“'mod pod' hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Stayed 2 nights at this excellent hotel. All sold on technology in POD style room room (tablet to control mood lighting and TV movies and internet, so if on the blink can be a mess) and chic design. Spacious and interesting reception rooms. Bit of cool start doing your own booking in with staff on hand to help. Bar and foyer and restaurant and garden all blend together. Room onto interior courtyard may suit some. Shower good with comp gel etc. Great bed but felt the room a little too hot even with A/C on. Did not have breakfast as preferred to walk to Borough Market for Monmouth Coffee Co - a must if you like. Great buzz there too with local office crowd and market very busy at lunch time. London Bridge tube handy 5-10min walk and Southwark tube around back of hotel with is also handy. Overall I think the hotel is a work in progress and not quite there yet but would like to stay again

Room Tip: Courtyard room for quieter stay but keep your blind down for privacy.

“Loved this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

This place is awesome, I'd go back for sure. Great location, friendly staff, very good value for money. The atmosphere in the lounge/bar area is great. There is a learning curve with the tablet but once you get the hang of it you're ok. Take a walk to the Borough Market and check out the Shard...also make sure to walk across the Millenium bridge and once on the other side go for a walk on the bank of the Thames.

“Fifth element style living!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012 via mobile

A decent 25 minute walk from Waterloo but buses run frequently and stop outside hotel. A blend of retro pop culture designs welcomes you to the hotel. Self check but not to worry. Staff are helpful and vibrant working the front desk and bar!
When we entered the room it was bizarre! Think fifth element apartment with Bruce Willis, ( no the room doesn't come with Bruce Willis ladies) with a modern Japanese contempory feel.
As you've probably read the room has a Samsung tablet which controls the tv with music and films to choose from similar to an airplane setup. The aircon and blinds are also controlled through the pad and my favourite is you can set the led room lights to any colour you like with the I'd of a colour wheel!

The bed takes up most of the room. It's huge could fit 4 people and has 4 gigantic pillows. Only enough floor space for 2 suitcases but sufficient. Small fridge available. The bathroom is massive with the coloured led lights setting a tone through the sectioned off frosted glass wall. All in all fresh and clean.

The staff were friendly and laid back and would ask us about our day plans and organise printed directions and bar and site recommendations as well.

There is a 24/7 self serve cafeteria downstairs which looks enticing with good variety. But there's not too much need for it in the day as there is a marks and spencer across the road to he hotel!!!

Downstairs in the lobby there is a huge chill out area with novelty ornaments and interior design. Plenty of opportunities for silly photos.

The selection at the bar was also great! The only negatives were the aircon could have been colder and the bathroom door makes an annoying noise. Pety I know but hard to find faults.

Looking forward to staying next time. Strongly recommend for couples, business or short London trips.

“Great to be a Citizen in London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012 via mobile

Everything about this new London Hotel is just wonderfull
The rooms are small but who is visiting London to stay in a room. The bed is huge and comfy
English breakfast that only the english truely can love but if you dont want it you just dont pay for it , fair enough. The coffee made to order is great
The best part of the Hotel is the common space In the lobby, filled with designer chairs, enough outlets to charge all your Apple products while hanging out with the crowd , meeting , working , socializing
Check In and out easy and fast using til kiosks at the entrance
Great place
