“a few teething problems but overall good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

not the cheapest place to stay in london but a very stylish hotel. love the common areas and bar/breakfast area. the design is fantastic. rooms are small but perfectly formed. bed and pillows very comfy. could have done with a bigger duvet. mood lighting a nice touch and giant tv. my husband liked playing with the gadgets. we had a few problems with our room. arrived to find no electricity in our room. later on we got locked out as our keycard stopped working. and then the movies wouldn't work either. the staff were great though - problems were solved quickly and they offered us a free drink and breakfast as an apology.

Room Tip: rooms are 'soundproofed' but not against london traffic. ask for a room facing into the quad...

Citizen have thrown away the hotel rule book, "death to the trouser press" is just one of their mottos! Not like any other hotel I have been to - we loved it! My daughter and I loved the gadgets allowing you to select ambient lighting, free internet, free movies, all brillliant. The bed was enormous and really comfortable , shower room spotless and efficient. Lobby area was like being in an art gallery but with cosy seating areas. Staff were helpful but not intrusive and the self service check in and out was easy, once we'd got used to it!

Room Tip: Front of hotel looks out on to Southwark St, slight noise from traffic in room 223

Great staff, wonderful coffee, simulating surroundings. The bed was huge ant the shower was wonderful. I don't like hotels usually, but citizenM is very relaxing. It was really good fun staying at the hotel. Even all the other customers were nice.

Room Tip: They are all the same, but probably choose one with a view of the street.

This hotel is a MUST VISIT if you love gadgets and modern hotels. The hotel is very easy to find and has a great location. Only a 5 minute walk to the tube the hotel is very well situated in London with some beautiful restaurants only a stones throw away! The hotel has brilliant & friendly service and has a very useful luggage storage facility. I have stayed in the Amsterdam CitizenM which was great but they have taken what was great in Amsterdam and made it EVEN BETTER!

Because it was for a birthday trip they even gave us 2 complimentary drinks, an extremely nice touch which is not often come across in the hotel industry anymore! I cannot tell you enough how pleasant the service was, I went to Claridges for afternoon tea and found that the service was far better in CitizenM than that of Claridges!

This hotel is a must stay for anyone who wants luxury at an affordable price!

My wife and I stayed here for about 6 nights. It was excellent; very clean, very new, and conveniently located. Bed was huge and comfortable. Room had excellent climate control.

Rooms, of course, are small. Bathroom, of course, is small. There is no privacy in the room, so this hotel would not be appropriate for strangers or co-workers to share a room.

My wife and I are not into the high-tech/"atmosphere" thing but we still felt very comfortable staying here, and the minimal interaction with the staff was very very good.

We will definately stay here again.

I urge CitizenM to really stay on top of the maintenance to KEEP this hotel so nice and clean.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel on Saturday night. It was the best hotel stay we have ever had. The staff were very friendly and helpful - particularly Eylem, who made us feel very welcome! The bartenders impressed us with their knowledge of obscure cocktails. The room was compact but did not feel small. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable. We really enjoyed playing with the tablet to control every aspect of the room. As someone who is usually confused by technology I found it really straightforward to use. Breakfast was really good value with a great range of food available. The location of the hotel was really convenient, with Southwark and London Bridge tube stations only a 10 minute walk away. All in all, we found citizenM to be the perfect balance between style and function - we would recommend this hotel to anyone!

This is by far the funkiest hotel I have stayed in! Huge beds, cool lighting and the tablet to control the room was excellent. Free movies were a great extra specially as they were all recent releases too. Really friendly staff, fab batman who makes the best cocktails! The only negative was no coffee facilities in the room. Other than that perfect! We will be back!!
