I booked to stay here the first week the hotel opened - so I didn't have the advantage of any previous reviews to look at to decide if it was OK. I have to say, I looked at the hotel website, and decided that they must be being entirely honest about the hotel - as it was described as being very small. However, as it was only £90 per night and is outside Victoria Station, I decided to book it.
First, the location. When you're staying somewhere for work (as I was), location is everything and this hotel is 10 minute walk from where I'm working. Perfect. It is also in an extremely safe part of London and so I knew it would be OK from that point of view. It is right next door to a pub, but I didn't hear any noise at all from there.
Second, the room. The room is very modern (it should be as it's only just opened!) and stylishly done out. There is the most amazing TV on the wall, a great shower and a desk. Also Tea and coffee and aircon. The only thing it's missing, is a window. I knew I had an inside room when I booked, so it was less of a shock. It also, surprisingly (to me) didn't bother me - felt a little like a prison cell, but, to be honest, by the time you have the glass cubicle shower and the fab TV, you almost don't notice. It also makes it very quiet as you don't hear the street outside! However, the room is tiny - really small. Again, didn't bother me as a) the website was extremely honest about this and b) it was only me. I booked a Queen room as that was a bit bigger (according to the website). You certainly wouldn't want 2 big people in this room and I would have felt quite claustrophobic with my husband there too. However, for me, on my own and working, it was perfect.
To sum up, it's not a room that you think 'that's nice, I'll go back to the room and relax' but it also doesn't sell itself as that. However, for a good, clean room in central London for £90 (what I paid) it is perfect.
