“Glad I found you !!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2010

Spent ages researching here & elsewhere looking for a place to stay in London below £100 on surprise birthday treat for OH, but failed to find anywhere central that did not have a number of off-putting negative reviews. On casting my net further afield, came across this place which has a 95% excellent to average rating. The staff & service could not have been bettered & got a room AND full english breakfast for £76!. On arriving at reception was delighted to find that a room had not been pre-allocated & was offered a range of choices - including a smoking room. Now, being members of the suicidal dinosaur class which insists on choosing the possibility of death by nicotine, we were delighted to avail ourselves of this offer. It is oh so very easy for hotels to declare themselves, ( & in many cases including their grounds) as complete non-smoking areas, but congrats are due to Ramada, who have acknowledged the needs of the filthy minority by offering smoking rooms ( & BTW, also an outside smoking terrace, accessible from the longe/bar area). This has ensured that, whenever looking for a hotel in the future, Ramada group will be my first port of call.
Otherwise, the room, facilities & breakfast were all excellent, the only negative being the distance from central London. The result is that this hotel has raised its bar a bit to attract clients who might otherwise go elsewhere - & this can only be to the benefit of the visitor. This area of London has been denigrated elsewhere on this site, but I can honestly say that at no time outside the hotel did I, or my OH feel in any way alarmed or threatened.

The good points - breakfast was excellent and was included in our rate, location isn't too bad despite not being close to much at all, 2 tube stops and you can be at White City for the BBC or Westfields shopping and can reach the West End in 20 mins. The car park is 10.00 GBP/24 hours, however they only charged us for a day even though we went several hours over, in fact the front desk seemed a friendly bunch altogether.

The rooms are ok, I personally don't like the wet room style of bathroom and our shower had quite a bit of mould on the grout and ceiling. The floor in the room is wood and it looked clean, however the first thing my wife found was a dead fly which she collected in a white tissue, however it wsn't quite so pristine after being in contact with the floor! My conclusion is that housekeeping isn't as good as it might be.

The hotel is very much like the better known budget chains, but full rate is 160.00 GBP for room only, and in no way is this hotel woth anything like that amount, luckily we paid exactly half that through a booking site and got fair value for the price we paid.

My sister and I booked this hotel as part of a flight/hotel package. We weren't familiar with the location but read that it wasn't too far from the center on London on the tube. This is correct; the East Acton Underground station is literally a 5 minute walk (probably less if you walk faster), which wasn't a problem at all. It took us maybe 10 minutes to get into London. The hotel itself seems to be very new. I think it is mostly patronized by people on business but we saw a few other tourists there too. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff are very helpful and willing to answer any questions you have. The only strange thing was the way the electricity works. Apparently you need to keep your key in a slot the entire time you are in your room in order to have AC, TV, lights. It took us about 10 minutes to figure that one out before we could finally see. We also had free breakfast included in our package and were only expecting pastries and juice. NOPE! We had a full English breakfast for free! I have stayed in hotels, resorts, and timeshares and would be very willing to stay in this hotel the next time I visit London. I LOVED it!

I would absolutely recommend the Ramada Encore London West! My stay there was fantastic throughout, with the highlight being the excellent service which I have personally met in very few hotels. The staff were friendly, helpful and always nice, which I think is extremely important.
Even though I had a room on my own, I was upgraded to a Double Room with no extra cost and the room was very good as well - the bed was comfortable, the TV had a lot of channels and in general the stay was pleasant.
The only problems I had was that my room wasn't available when I checked in and that it smelled quite strongly of cleaning products when it finally was ready. The smell never returned on any other day.
Also the location of the hotel is near North Acton which is quite a desolate area and apart from a Tesco, a Pub and one OK restaurant there is absolutely nothing to do in the area, so you'd have to eat in London itself. That said, Tubewise it's located quite comfortably as the North Acton station is a small and welcoming one just 5 minutes from the hotel with friendly staff and it is part of the Central Line which goes directly to the likes of Oxford Circus and Marble Arch.
All in all a fantastic stay but the location did prove a bit of a bother at times.

Stayed here for 4 nights this week. Overall very pleasant stay. Nice area, room very comfortable, food good etc. BUT! The floors are made with cheap, creaky wooden flooring and the room walls are paper thin. Extremely noisy, not external noise getting in, but floors creaking excessively, can hear the next room
far too clearly, you can hear full conversations because of the stupid adjoining room doors. Especially as I had noisy neighbours this was extremely annoying. Also I thought £120 a night (weekdays) without breakfast included was a bit steep.

This hotel was very nice - comfy beds, a nice staff, and reasonably priced food in the lobby. It IS a bit far from London, perhaps a half hour's ride from the Acton North Tube station. If you have your own car, this is perfect. If not ,then it can be a bit of a hassle to go anywhere. The hotel itself seems to be in the middle of an industrial park with nothing but a small grocery store nearby. It was a bit odd, but overall comfy stay,

The location is further away from downtown, but very close to the North Acton tube station. The room was well designed and comfortable with one draw back; our shower pressure was quite poor and the temperature control was a little finicky. The bed was very comfortable and the coffee/tea service in the room was an added bonus. The staff was amazing! We flew in early and arrived (8:30am) before the check-in time. The reception staff immediately communicated with the cleaning staff to have a room cleaned for us. After a short wait we had a room, no problem. We ate in the restaurant twice; the food was delicious and the waiting staff was courteous. There is also a Tesco Express on the way to the tube station which was convenient for us to grab a snack or lunch.
