“Great Stay - Great Hotel - Great Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

A fantastic London hotel. I have stayed here on numerous occasions and each stay gets better and better. The food is of a good standard and food and beverage staff are good too. The staff really make you feel welcome and at home. Every credit to the management team as I would certainly recommend this hotel and will be staying in future when in London. The location is excellent very near the Central Line. Thank you for a great stay.

Room Tip: Executive Rooms are of a very high standard and new.

My boyfriend and I stayed here on the 18th of April. We were upgraded to the executive room on the 7th floor the room was lovely and clean. The hotel itself was a lovely clean hotel. The staff were very friendly however seemed to be a lot of confusion about what was going on. We were asked by 3 waiters if we wanted them to take our order at the evening meal although the food was very good. overall a very good stay maybe should leave notes for each other on handover though.

Room Tip: Executive room has ceiling to floor windows and would say worth the upgrade,

Booked a family room for two adults and two children Despite arriving early and confirming that the room would be prepared with a sofa bed for the kids.....was disappointed to arrive back from London mid evening to find the room was still only set up for 2 adults. The room had a climate control system although was informed that the hotel had a set temperature per room for the Winter and another for the Summer so reducing the temp by the system would not cool the room and applying the fan would in fact heat it up. The room temp was at 25 degrees when we arrived and the only solution advised was to open the window which was set on a security lock - so could only be opened slightly. A fan was offered but declined as the thought of circulating the air at 25 degrees didn't feel like a suitable solution. Not much point having climate control in the rooms if it can't be used and advertising air conditioning as part of the rooms facilities is surely breaking some sort of trading standards regulation ?..."Keep refreshed with air conditioning"......(this is a line from the booking detail on line). We would have liked the option of booking an executive room or suite however, despite being bigger than the standard room....these rooms were restricted to two person occupancy. The lounge/bar area was pleasant and the breakfast next morning was good. Great that the tube is nearby. Overall, I am concerned that room facilities are shown as part of the booking process but are not in working order which really isn't acceptable. If we had known that the climate control could not be used, we would have probably not booked the room.

Room Tip: Make sure that you are actually getting what you pay for before you finalise your booking

I had a host of issues but for this review I’ll keep to the general hotel, room, and staff.
I had stayed at this property when it was a Ramada with creaking wood floors and it was bad. They now have a new ‘executive section’ and the floor problems seemed mostly resolved there. I did here that the other section still has the creaky floors problem.
The room is beautiful to look at and the photos they show represent this but the room itself is very none functional. The bed has one of the thickest mattresses I’ve ever seen in Europe and yet it was the hardest thing I’ve ever slept on. The desk chair was fine but the main chair for sitting was a pain. It looked great and fit the overall style of the room but it sits only 12-13 inches of the ground. Getting out of the thing was a pain (no side arms) and I cannot imagine an older person being able to use it at all.
The bathroom sink counter has a long slope into the sink with very little flat space. I almost broke a glass when I put it down and watched it slide into the sink. The shower has a ½ fixed glass divider and then is fully open at the back. When I got out there was water all over the bathroom floor. The shower has a hose up to the head which I love to have but the whole thing was held in place but this clip that kept you from really being able to pull the head down to easily wash your whole body. (Hint: You can unscrew the hose and back feed it though the secured hoe and then reattach)
The staff was friendly and helpful with all issues

Dear msnmuc,

Thank you for your feedback. Its good to note that you found the the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. With regards to mattresses, the hotel uses the standard Holiday Inn brand approved mattresses - sorry to hear that the mattresses was hard for your liking. Good to note that you liked the desk chair, we have noted your comments with regards lounge chair and the bathroom sink. These will form part of our routine management review and will be appropriately discussed and taken up.

msnmuc, thank you for choosing to stay at the Holiday Inn London-West. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel soon.

Regards, Aman.

This is the second hotel I stay on in the UK.
Reservation was made through booking.com.
To begin with for 1 night, then I found out that 1 more night was necessary. I wrote an email asking to keep the room for 1 more night ,but got no answer. Once at the hotel I had to ask personally. Not so good.
Then next morning someone forgot to tell the cleaning personal about this an we woke up from the persistent knocking at our door. Not so good either, after a late night out.
Otherwise nice and quiet hotel and not far from the metro station and small supermarket.
Bus stop nearby as well.
I recommend it .

i stay in this area quite a bit normally at the Holiday Inn Express but as this has changed from the Ramada to Holiday Inn I would give it a try. Rooms haven't changed much, no bath only shower and on this occasion no towels either although this was quickly remedied. Creaky bed and difficult to get the curtains full closed.
The car park is much bigger than the nearby Express and same price £10 per night.
Reception was good and helpful as we're all the staff.
Dinner was not good with very small portion of chips which were allegedly hand cut but very thin, looked like the bottom of the bag. The breakfast was also poor with all the cooked items that I had Luke warm at best. The croissants were over heated and hard on the outside.
Overall a bit disappointing for a Holiday Inn

I stayed here after two weeks at the Holiday Inn Express over the road there wasn't much difference to be honest. The service is better at the express here the staff struggle to communicate in English and there was an error with my billing of food back to my agent and trying to explain this to the receptionist at 05:50 in the morning did not go well so had to separately email and get it sorted out where as at the Express everything was billed back correctly. The views from the rooms are quite good and the decor is modern and stylish. Rooms can be a bit hot at times !
