“Nice hotel, cool area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

The Shoreditch area is very happening, a bit meatpacking in NYC 10 years avo feeling. It can however be quite agressive and scary at night (botlkes were thrown and 2-3 fights going on outside the hotel every evening). Having said that its still a very interesting area with a lot of nice restaurants and creative feeling. The hotel has an industrial design with a teist and a lot of small details. The room I got was spacious. The lobby/bar area is very aluve with DJs playing, hipsters working and guests hanging out, nice vibe. The service was ok but not mote, staff seemed hired for being cool rather than experienced in the hotel industry, upon checkout they were not able to print a bill.... Avoid the restaurant, nice decor but horrible food.

I have hardly ever seen such a busy hotel in terms of public areas - all sorts were hanging around - of all ages / seemingly locals and tourists. I stayed on a Saturday night - check in was busy but front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is like a social scene on its own and if you want a quiet/upscale type of place its not for you. If you want somewhere in the hub of Shoreditch, Spittafields etc and don't mind loud music and crowds of hipsters then it is certainly well worth looking at.

Having a beard is not obligatory and certainly not being 'hipster' does not preclude you from enjoying the hotel - it was very inclusive and fun. They lobby bar gets mobbed at night - so bear this in mind.

Room Tip: they have quieter rooms, ask for one in advance

Take one hotel, strip out the dated interior, insert a rich mix of industrial chic = Ace Hotel.
The Ace certainly lives up to its area's reputation; achingly hip with the beautiful people of Shoreditch perfectly positioned on cool benches, dreamy sofas and copper stools. The atmosphere is unpretentious and indeed friendly. People smile, kids run around (ours did), dogs swagger in and out. We had a superior double-delux room on the third floor we booked through Tablet Hotels; a roomy, road-side and fairly hard core suite. Some nice touches takes one back to the era of Ibizia sunsets and warehouse parties. In short, excellent choice all round. I just hope the hotel sorts out its teething problems with the IT and the iffy plumbing in the gym.

Room Tip: Road side rooms have excellent views for an urban experience

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. The room was nice with comfortable bed. All the staff from the front desk , bar, housekeeping etc have gone over and above to ensure my stay has been comfortable and enjoying. Its great to see staff that obviously enjoy the work place. I travel all around the world for work and can honestly say the service here is one of the best I have experienced. I would also like to make a special mention to Monica from front desk team. She has been highly professional and has a lovely personality, fabulous customer service. Thank you again and I will certainly be recommending your hotel to business associates, family and friends

I stayed at Ace Hotel in Shoreditch for 2 nights and the experience was GREAT
I was expecting that I would feel out of place in this hotel, it was so welcoming and had all sorts of people staying there, young and old!
In most respects, the hotel met my expectations - good rooms, comfortable beds, good shower, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Location is great - short walk to a tube station and plenty of restaurants and bars all around.

My fiancé and I visited Ace for one night last weekend. Having stayed a few times at Ace NY we thought we'd try this one in shoreditch.

The hotel itself is great, good rooms and very stylish. However they do make you feel like you're in a shop as almost everything in the room is for sale. That's a bit off-putting but the style and comfort makes up for it.

The staff were smiley and helpful. However, and this is probably something that probably has never happened before, but as we walked into the room we found a pile of rubbish on the floor, just by the door. Nothing too disgusting, just chocolate bar wraps and used tissues etc., but for the price you pay you expect better. We also had some problem with the basin as the plug hole tap seemed to have got stuck in place so water wasn't draining away. Reported both issues to reception but whilst they sorted the basin issue the rubbish was left untouched until the day we left.

The day we left we also saw by the lift door some rubbish which I won't go on about it here (this was lady disposable rubbish - thankfully it was only part of it, and unused). Didn't raise this with the hotel as they'd have probably thought I was a difficult guest. Took a photo though! Oh, and this may have been some lovey guests leaving this kind of stuff behind so you can almost not blame the hotel - still, not nice to be faced with it before you even have had a chance to wake up...

So all in all, good stay, some great places to eat and shop around the hotel but they need to do better in the hygiene department.

I was expecting that I would feel out of place in this hotel, it was so welcoming and had all sorts of people staying there, young and old! The room we had was for a girly weekend for a 40th birthday, it had 2 double beds, the record player was a lovely touch and after all day on our feet we stayed in the room for the evening catching up and playing tunes before heading out for food. The breakfast was excellent quality, good value and the breakfast room had a band playing - would definitely recommend and will stay here again. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Hi Meesh 75,

Thank you so much for your recent review, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and WOW a five star review too, you really are too kind.

We are super happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you enjoyed the turntable in the room. There is nothing better to warm up for a night out than listening to a few tunes on the turntable.

Thank you again for your wonderful review and by the way Happy Birthday from all of here at the Ace Hotel London.

xoxo
