“Belgravia Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2011

Well, early signs were not promising and we seriously thought about moving on despite having paid for two nights.
We decided to stay though - the room was small and basic but at least it was clean.
The staff were all friendly and helpful which was probably the saving grace for the hotel.
It really does need some tidying up - fresh paint and carpets would improve things a lot.
The breakfast was also basic.
So would I recommend it? If you're used to major chain hotels then this would probably not meet your expectations but for a cheap convenient hotel, it is Ok for one or two nights....

I was a bit spooked by all the bad reviews on this hotel/guest house but it really wasn't that bad for one night stay. The room wasn't very nice and the carpet was a bit old and stained but the bed was actually comfy (although I'm able to sleep well pretty everywhere) and the sheets and towels were clean. And I couldn't spot the smell of pee either, the whole house smelled like cleaning pruducts.

The bathroom was ridiculously tiny but thankfully so am I, so I had no problem with showering. The water was hot and the water pressure adequate but I wouldn't want to be taking more than one shower there.

All in all, the Belgravia hotel was fine for one night but I wouldn't stay for longer. I'm really sorry to say this since the young manager and this young girl who seemed to be the only ones running the place seemed really nice.

A hotel from hell scruffy not been decorated for many years. No decent facilities rooms small and the "en-suite" was a plastic box like something out of a caravan. No card facilities demanded cash up front before viewing a room, continental breakfast consisted of stale bread for toasting and cereal in a dingy basement cellar room. Not value for money don't know how it achieved 2 stars avoid like the plague!

Beware of the Smart Looking Exterior because once inside this Hotel is best described as scruffy and run down. We stayed in double room No. 4 and our friends in No. 6. The Following Facilities advertised on the website were NOT available in our rooms:
1. Coffee/Tea making facilities
2. Fridge, 3. Hair Drier, 4. Desk. 5. Phone. 6. Radio Alarm. 7. Safe. 8. Internet Terminal, 9. Wardrobe.
The Business Card advertises a Full English Traditional Breakfast, but in fact this turned out to be a DIY Toast and Cereal Continental Breakfast in a small inadequate Basement Room, with 4 Tables to cater for 13 Rooms.
The Staff were pleasant but insisted on Cash Payment up front (NO Card Facilities Available) Prior to viewing the Rooms.
The Rooms were Pokey, Dingy & Mouldy with a constant smell of Drains.
Even at the Prices Charged this Hotel is NOT value for money and it spoilt our weekend visit to London.

when me & my mates walked upto the belgravia we thought we'd done really well for the price but after ringing the bell we were greeted by a very young looking french lad who tuned out to be the manager! once in the lobby we just looked at each other in disbelief coz it was a dump & stank of stale pee! after we were taken down to the basement to reluctantly give him our cash we were shown our room on the very top floor, we just burst out laughing otherwise we would've cried! yep it was that bad believe me. there was stains of all kinds on the walls/ceiling & the carpet was awful. the walls were decorated in chipwood wallpaper which id not seen since the mid 80s. we asked for 3 single beds & got a double & one single! there was a sink in the room that was cracked & looked like the singl bed was propping it up so we didnt use that. the bathrooms or should i say bathroom on one of the landings was just horrible but they'd put a bunch of fake flowers in there as if that would make it better. the windows would'nt close correctly & you could hear traffic/bin wagons all nite. we didnt bother with breakfast as we just wanted to get out of there ASAP. the whole place should be closed down & i cant believe how they can even trade. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!

I decide to visited London at the middle of April and actually found this Hotel on place.
It was cheapest one I have found around Victoria Station so I booked a room. I had to use the common bathroom but that wasn’t a big problem, because, I think they don’t have many other rooms without facilities inside, the bathroom was free each time I went to use it.

We stayed at the Belgravia Hotel in April 2011.
The location is excellent, close to Victoria station. The room was quite small but tiny , clean and light. The breakfast is decidedly NOT gourmet, but it is satisfying: warm and filling. The tea was wonderful. The management is very friendly and helpful. We received a really warm welcome. They try very hard to make everyone's stay as nice as possible. We stayed for five nights ,a fabulous price for London! Please remember that this is a small, budget hotel. For the price, it is an exceptional value: decent breakfast, en-suite bathrooms (in some rooms), marvelous location in a quiet area, clean towels and bed made each morning, and a caring and friendly staff. What more could you ask? Overall, we were really pleased and would most definitely stay there again.
