“Easy way to stay near to London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We stayed here in February for three nights (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). We chose this hotel as it is handy for DLR Beckton station and there is a large car park. When we arrived on Thursday our room wasnt ready, but we waited in the adjoining pub, and the receptionist came and found us with our keycard. We stayed in the annex across the car park. Room was clean and the annex seemed quite new. There were four of us staying in a family room, and we had to ask for more milk etc as not much had been left. We only had six pillows between the four of us, and could have done with more towels. Other than that, all staff very friendly and helpful. We ate each night at the pub adjoining the hotel, and all meals were ok, but fairly average. We didnt have breakfast on any day. The hotel is ideally situated at the end of the DLR. You can get on the DLR straight to Tower Bridge from here, and if you need to get further into London, change at Canning Town and join the Jubilee line. We took two kids with us and had no problems finding our way around. Would recommend this hotel for its location and free parking.

We stayed here over New Year and were a little disappointed. The hotel itself is well maintained and the Staff are pleasant. Rooms good. as a family we had to ask for extra towels on both nights because the housekeepers seemed to think even though it was a family room there were only two of us.It was the restaurant we were particularly disappointed with, as on both mornings they failed to keep items stocked up. We had to ask for glasses, dishes, plates, butter, jams and wait for items from the cooked breakfast area. This is inefficient and shows a lack of supervision. There was no restaurant manager anywhere in sight either morning!
This Premier Inn needs a shake up at supervisory level. The general staff are hardworking but lack direction!

My wife and stayed for one night in January so that we could visit our son who lives at Royal Victoria, a few stops on the DLR from Beckton. The DLR station is right next to this hotel and so it was extremely convenient. Whilst Beckton DLR is at the end of the line, the trains are frequent. The hotel reception staff were very efficient and friendly. Our room was in the annexe building across the car park from the main building. The room was very clean and comfortable. The reason for choosing this particular Premier Inn was the fact it has a large car park which is free! The hotel was easy to find and being able to leave the car and conveniently use the DLR made the weekend stay in London hassle free. We could leave the car in the car park after checking out and you are given a code to key in at the barrier when leaving the car park. We did not have breakfast although generally speaking the Premier Inn breakfasts are good value. However, we made a decision not to eat our evening meal at the adjacent Brewers Fayre as my experience of that particular restaurant chain is not good, whether having lunch or dinner; the food is often bland and not good quality. We took the DLR to Canary Wharf where there is a huge choice of good quality retaurants.

Right next to DLR station. About 30 minutes to Central London with the DLR.
Carpark. Budget hotel, but a very good one. Cheap compaired to hotels closer to town.
Rooms clean, beds good, with a "good night guarantee"

Room Tip: ask for a room in the seperate building, not in the main building because this is next to a busy roa...

Just near the DLR line. 10' from Excel. One hour from Oxford Circus.
Large room, large bathroom, very confortable. Large choice for the breakfast.

Room Tip: Avoid room on the parking lot (more silent on the back) If needed, ask room with a good wifi connec...

It was a business trip in London to visit the exhibition in ExCeL center. I stayed in Premier Inn Beckton for 5 nights and was satisfied with this experience.
It is situated right next to Beckton DLR station and it is good that you do not need to change for a bus or walk alot from DLR. But the bad thing is that it is the last station of DLR and it takes about an hour to take to the center of London.
Regarding the food and beverage - it is normal, quite tasty and good.
The hotel is situated in the silent place ind it's a cozy hotel.

Have just returned from 2 nights at this Premier Inn. Have stayed there most Januarys since 2005 as it is in a convenient situation for visiting the Boat Show at the Excel centre. We used to use the DLR but it's got rather expensive so now we catch the No 300 bus from outside Asda to Prince Regent and use our bus passes to get there for free! (One of the few perks for being a pensioner.)
The staff at the hotel are all very friendly and helpful and the room was pretty typical for a Premier Inn. There were a few cobwebs on the ceiling and a moth flew out of my clean towel when I unfolded it! However, the sheets, towels and bathroom were all nice and clean.
For the first time this year we stayed in a room (8) which was in the same building as the restaurant. As we had about 4 inches of snow this was great as we didn't have to walk across the car park to get to the restaurant for meals. Also, when we went out for the bus we were able to use the restaurant door which was nearer the DLR and almost opposite the pedestrian crossing for the bus station and Asda, (The night we arrived we walked out of the main hotel entrance and right round the hotel to get to the bus station to check the times and it was VERY slippery.)
The food in the restaurant at dinner time was very poor - I have contacted Brewers Fayre to complain. Saturday's food (beef and ale pie) was completely dried out and the two pieces of meat were gristle. Nobody came to see if everything was OK and when we told the girl who cleared the table she just said "Euck" (We went over to Asda and bought two tiramisus for desert, which we ate in our room.) On the Sunday evening we went to eat at 6.40pm. The Sunday roasts, which are available from 12 o'clock, looked completely dried out and the vegetables were soggy - I guess they had sat on the hot plate for nearly seven hours. Needless to say we didn't have this! Shame, as we had "buy one roast, get one free" vouchers.
The breakfast was very nice on Sunday morning. On the Monday we obviously picked the wrong time to eat (8.50ish) There was no fruit salad, the sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes etc were dried up, as were the fried eggs and the scrambled egg was a solid lump of rubbery goo. I asked for a fresh fried egg and we made do with the sausages and bacon on toast. Just as we were finishing, (about 9.20) the chef came out and removed all the dried out food and replaced it with fresh. They even brought out some fresh fruit salad, so we had a bowlful each!
Will probably stay there again as the hotel itself is ok and the staff are lovely but as another reviewer said, it's let down by the restaurant.

Room Tip: Although our room (8) looked out over the car park we didn't experience any noise and it was gre...
