“check your bookings carefully”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

I stayed at this hotel in October and there are a few positives, however the negatives outweigh those. The price was good, but you get what you pay for. The room was below what i expected, the rollaway bed was hard, uncomfortable and not at all pleasant to sleep on and the room itself smelt slightly old and musty. Families all get put down one end so it sounded like there was a herd of elephants around with all the children running around, jumping off beds and walls, so don't expect a good nights sleep or a morning sleep in if you are travelling with family. The location is great being so close to public transport, coffee shops, take away food, off -licences etc, that's the positive. Since our stay we have been charged twice for an apparent no-show and Travelodge have been reluctant in providing me with proof of our bookings. They have claimed we booked through a travel agency and have given me reference numbers which the agency have verified as not theirs and confirmed they do not have any bookings under our name. I have been fighting this battle since October and it is now December and still they will not refund the money owed to us.

Family room for 4 is very cramped and bathroom really too small for the purpose. Extra beds were very uncomfortable. We stayed 2 nights, really based on location and price. Noise from Kings Cross trains quite intrusive but breakfast was ok, basic but ok. Not bad for price and if you can put up with the noise (which does ease up late at night) then not a bad choice.

I stayed here in November for a couple of nights. I love the location of this travel lodge so always stay here when visiting the capital. The room was spacious and clean however was at the back of the hotel on this occasion so was quite noisy with the constant trains coming and going so might be worth requesting a room at the front or them investing in some better sound proofing windows! The breakfast was continential and reasonable value for money. Location is excellent a short walk away from Euston and Kngs Cross and the entrance to a couple of the tube lines is just around the corner which is better than going across the road. Also a shop over the way and a few restaurants and McDonald's. Will definitely stay here again due to the location and price.

Room Tip: Definitely at the front of the hotel to above the train noise

The Kings Cross station was only minutes away by foot. However, the room we got had an unpleasant view. The room was clean & the bed was comfortable. The staff was also very helpful.

Definitely a value for money hotel

The hotel is few minutes walk from King Cross station. Very clean room and toilet. Excellent area as many restaurants and shops around the hotel. Don't get confused with the other Travelodge London Kings Cross Royal Scot Hotel which is at Kings Cross Road.
When using the taxi make sure to tell them its at Grays Inn Road.
No porter service.

Room Tip: For less noise, chose room not facing the train route.

Stayed here for a couple if nights as all other corporate hotels we use were full or prices were exorbitant. This was Perfectly functional and good value. It was ideally situated a stone throw from Kings cross station, the underground as well as restaurants.

Good welcome although did not have luggage holding room which was a bit inconvenient . Had to pay £10 early booking fee to get rid of them. We were given one room in the basement and told the other would be next door. Did not get back till 11pm and was then given a weirded choice of two rooms, but not the original one. Reception staff were very helpful.

Rooms clean tidy and as in the basement quite although the light did hum whilst on. No view just passageway but light and room size good. All in all ok would stay again.
