This is a Kensington-Chelsea property of around 60 rooms, managed by the Hilton Chain. Located within walking distance to the Natl. History & V&A Museums & Kensington Gardens, is well-suited for both business & leisure stay in London, with good conference room facilities. It is very near the Gloucester Road Tube station.
The large,well-lit & open Lobby is very inviting, with coloured marble floors, period furniture & chandeliers invoking the foyer of an English Stately Mansion. The rooms are all A/C, large & well-appointed, with large en-suite bathrooms with both Jacuzzi-bathtub & a Shower-Stall, with gold-finished fittings & fixtures giving a sense of luxury. I missed a Shaving Mirror, though !
The room itself was in muted golden yellow, with golden-trimmed period furniture, with a seating area, work-table with free wireless internet, large Flat-screen TV, minibar & coffee/tea service. The King-size bed had oversize pillows & was very comfortable. The room even had a Chandelier with a light-dimming switch. Overall, a nice feeling of high-class luxury !
There is a Turkish-style Spa & a small Gym in the basement. I tried the Gym but found it cramped & dimly-lit, & there was no attendant that early morning. The Malachite Bar is large with its green floor offset with rich velvet chairs, and with a good range of spirits & cocktails.
The Breakfast Buffet was decent, and they had even brought in a special Chef to give us Indian cuisine for breakfast & dinner to those who wanted !
The staff were very self-assured & very efficient, helpful & quick to respond to my queries & demands. Telephonic response was always immediate.
All told, I had a very enjoyable stay & would highly recommend this Hotel for a luxury-stay in London.
You may wish to choose a suite for real luxury !
