“Clean and good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW via mobile

Stayed here with work and got a great rate on booking.com. The rooms very clean and comfortable, food was good in the evening and bar was busy. Breakfast could of been better as was cold and didn't seem that fresh. But a good value stop over in London. Will definitely stay again.

We were going to Anthony Robbins at excel stadium, so we stayed at Ramada hotel from March 26 - 29 th.

Breakfast:

Boring and not much to choose from at the breakfast table. The staff seemed bored, angry, stressed and some did not even knew the menu.

Also they used approximately 20 minutes to bring me the gluten free bread I needed every day- even though they wrote down our room number every day, and said they would have it ready in the morning... This made us late and stressed for the event..

Rooms:

The rooms very old and lacked upgrade both in the bathroom and in the bedroom.
Also the rooms were not properly cleaned and the air condition temperature was impossible to adjust. We therefor needed to sleep with scarfs, but me and my sister got very ill.
They also lacked proper warm water in the shower. This immediately changed when I told them, but still was not able to adjust the temperature to a satisfying temperature...

Staff:

Some of the staff was irritable, incompetent due to the menu and they even blamed each other when I asked about something which was late every day ( gluten free bread )

Reception:

Outdated, messy, old-looking, not in 2015 standard.
Most staff are doing a good job, but some are a bit angry.

Wifi:

Trouble to use the wifi at least 5 times during our four days stay.

Dinner:

What we ordered was so dissapointing that it should not be called what it was. It had a fancy name, but when we got the dish ( after waitng a long time ), the dish was NOT EVNEN CLOSE to what the description said in the menu.
First of all, it was rather expensive, and when we made a complaint, the lady did a VERY poor job handling our complaint. She told us that we could only get money back from one of the meals because my sister had already been eating a little bit of the dish. Of course she needed to taste it before we could make a complaint; that is pretty normal...

In general:

This hotel should be named RAMADAN HOTEL because I would rather go on a fasting month than going back to this hotel!

I will never re-visit this place and I don't recommend you to go here.

Ramada hotel say the have 4 stars, but they don't live up to this at all.
I have been to 2 and 3 star hotels that have been much better than this hotel...

Cost for the room was in keeping for the location, so not the cheapest, but you do get a nice, spacious bedroom, with armchairs and table, along with a nice sized TV and large storage space. Beds are comfortable, although the pillows are hard. I particularly like the bathrooms, as they are well lit and have a nice surface area around the washbasin to allow us girls to do our make up in good lighting with a nice moveable mirror. The tea and coffee making facilities are stashed away in the wardrobe, but they are nicely stocked. The staff are nice and courteous. Only small issue was with the lifts in the morning down to breakfast. Too few lifts for so many rooms, so there were a lot of people waiting with suitcases to get downstairs to check out. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I think that they are all reasonable rooms.

I stayed here with my husband for one night as we wanted to spend a couple of days in London and although it is a bit far from central London it suited us as we enjoyed seeing a bit of Docklands and also took the opportunity to take the gondola ride across the Thames. Our room was really comfortable with a fantastic view across London City Airport, everything was clean and we had everything we needed, the hotel provides free Wi-Fi which was really good. The breakfast buffet the next day was lovely with a good selection of food and attentive waiters. Check-in and check out was easy and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the airport if you enjoy plane watching.

Went to the Ramada on a deal through late rooms. It was a short walking distance from the excel centre, which was perfect, but there car park is so small. You either have to wait for someone to leave our pay and display and it's not cheap. Check in was fine and the staff were wonderful. The biggest problem we had was some very noisy neighbours, who all night were making a terrible noise it the hallway. I ended up ringing the reception. They did take care of it, but this made us overly tired next day. The breakfast was extra but it was clearly fresh and there was a good choice. They let us keep out car there the day we checked out even though they were expecting more guests. Overall a good stay but I wish I'd called downstairs earlier!

Stayed at the Ramada on Saturday 25th April ready for the London marathon on the Sunday.
Paid £165 for a suite and shared the room with my parents and 5 year old daughter.
Room was lovely, plenty big enough for four of us. Myself and my daughter stayed on a pull out bed and had a great nights sleep.
My only moan would be the breakfast, was an additional £10 per adult. Porridge was vile! Can't comment on the cooked breakfast as in on a diet so avoided but plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurt a cereal etc. £10 for a breakfast is ridiculous.
Other than that lovely hotel and great nights sleep. Very short walk to the DLR and quite a nice pub (and food excellent) next to the premier inn 2 mins walk across the road.

My granddaughter and I booked an overnight stay at the Ramada hotel, as we were going to the Sherlock Holmes convention at the Excel, which was only a five minute walk through the car park. We caught the tube, then DLR to the Prince Regent stop, which was about a seven minute walk to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel at about 11 o'clock, and luckily our room was ready, so we had a quick cuppa before we went to the convention. The staff on reception were very helpful, they explained the procedure and times for breakfast, and gave us directions to the Chinese Restaurant we had booked for our evening meal. Our room was a decent size, as was the bathroom. Maybe the rooms are ready for an update, but the room was clean and warm, comfortable beds and nice hot water. The breakfast was excellent, a choice of cereals fruit and fruit juice, a hot breakfast selection, or cheeses and cooked meats, lovely fresh bread and rolls, toast jams and yogurts and warm pastries. The coffee was decent and plentiful and the staff were pleasant. we couldn't fault it. After breakfast, we checked out, and we left our luggage in the left luggage room which was ideal for us, as we were spending the day at the convention, before heading back into central London in the evening. Everything about this hotel suited us and we would return. well done all staff.
