We stayed here for 3 nights during Feb 2013, the rooms themselves are absolutely fine, very clean and comfortable. The free parking is great and the fact they let you leave your car there after you've checked out is good form. Unfortunately if you're a light sleeper like myself, there's a good chance you're not going to have a decent nights sleep here.
We were waken up in the morning on each of the 3 days by the maids being extremely loud whilst talking (shouting) to each other out side our room to the point where we were tempted to go outside and tell them to keep it down. Secondly the walls between rooms must be so thin as we could hear every single thing that was going on around us, from ringing phones to the entire conversation. Not really what we wanted. Thirdly there's a bit of an industrial area behind it and at 6 o clock in the morning on two of the days, we were woken up by a ruckus there involving noisy trolleys, boxes bring thrown around to people shouting each other, this lasted about 45 minutes and was annoying to say the least. There was just no way to sleep through that. The window was just a single pane of glass with terrible insulation, you could hear everything outside as if the window wasn't even there. We also got a lot of noise from the beer garden, there was hardly anybody in it and we could still hear noise, that's how bad the windows are.
Finally, we arrived back at the hotel one night at about half 11, we walked in and the receptionist who we had checked in with earlier that day was there, along with another chap with a pint in his hand. This bloke eyed me up as soon as I walked in to the second I got in the elevator to go up. Anyway, I thought nothing of it and as soon as I got into our room I grabbed my car keys as I needed to get a bag out of the car. I go back downstairs and as soon as the door opens and they see me they both burst out laughing hysterically and muttering to themselves in some unfamiliar language. I thought this was just downright rude and unacceptable. I go outside grab my bag and walk straight back in being eye to eye with the guy the whole time. I wouldn't stay here again, ill go back to the Premier Inn next time, it just doesn't compete.
