“An excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for two nights having got a good deal from Secret Escapes. The room was very spacious with three chairs!
It was downstairs but very quiet. The Tv only had a few channels but this was not really a problem. There are several stations nearby both overground and underground and loads of buses stop outside the hotel so you can get a bus to the station if you do not wish to walk for five to ten minutes. The breakfast is lovely especially the sourdough bread. My partner ordered porridge but it did not arrive. After complaining he ended up with two bowls! We arrived at the hotel too early to check in but were able to leave our luggage and come back later. All in all we had a great stay and I would go back.

I stayed here in a triple room with 2 friends and we cannot complain about the hotel in any way other than its location. Beautiful hotel and friendly staff but it is at least 15 min walk from nearest tube station. Uphill on your return. We were a bit wary walking from the tube at night but didn't have any troubles. Would be a fantastic hotel if closer to tube station as although a distance from central London only a few mins on the tube. Unsure if I would return to this hotel but would go to others in the group.

Stopped here for 2 nights for a London theatre / Museum trip with my 12 year old son.
Room was nice, bright & airy. We were on the ground floor with a view directly on to the bus stop on the main road! I was all set for asking for a move as was worried about the noise but it seemed pretty quiet so left it. Had no issue with noise at all.
Ca Park was £15 a night which was very reasonable for London. Car park is VERY hot though so don't leave anything meltable in your car.
We used the bus to travel which is our preferred mode of transport around London - you actually get to see the city (the real city that is) and my boy was thrilled to go past Lords & we also drove over the Abbey Road crossing on the way in to town. Caught the 16 back from Victoria ater our show which runs very regularly and runs up the Edgeware Road. We also caught a bus to Hampstead from just around the corner (outside a Co-op supermarket). The train station is only 5 mins walk away. We never used the tube station.
The traditional Irish breakfast was great (although I personally prefer a pot of tea to having my mug refilled). Highlight of the breakfast for me was the lovely fresh breads available - soda bread and various sourdoughs. The raisin and hazlenut one was amazing. You can also have salmon / haddock and eggs for breakfast which is again something you don't often find in hotels at this price range.
My boy swam in the pool which was also being used for local swimming lessons. The water must have been very heavily chlorinated as my only gripe with this hotel was that it gave him very sore eyes for the rest of the hotel.
The bar was nice too & not unreasonably priced for a) a hotel b) London - We ordered peanuts & got a massive glass of them.
I'd recommend this hotel & will probably go back

Room Tip: Our room was 260 which was ground floor on the front so you had to be careful with the windows / cur...

I stayed here several months ago & wrote a top review, I stayed there again recently & I have to downgrade it enormously, the room was awful & very noisy the breakfast was a joke, a free for all, long wait for breakfast & staff not knowing what they were doing, it wasn't cheap either. the best
tip I can give for this place is to ask for an upgrade to one of the front rooms which are much nicer,
also do not stay here if you wish to visit London Central, Cricklewood is miles away from anywhere
I would only stay here if I had business in North London or be near Brent Cross

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to one of the large rooms facing the High Street, it is noisy outside but it has...

If you're planning to spend most of your time in Central London, do NOT book this hotel. Nearest tube station is at least 15 min walk away. So we had to take the #16 bus that stops in front of the hotel and drops you off all the way to Victoria station. That trip is at least 40 min and worse during rush hour.

Located in what seemed to be like a working class neighborhood with an eclectic mix of ethnic establishments. Don't expect to find a fancy restaurant in the vicinity as there are are none. I'm not too sure about walking around the neighborhood at night either. You can judge for yourself.

Staff is cordial but not overly friendly. They placed us in a room below the ground level where our only view was the swimming pool and we can hear the music/noise blasting from the party in the nearby event hall. I thought that was in very poor taste. Wifi is very poor with consistent drop offs in connection, probably because of the room location.

Room is average but spacious.

Complimentary breakfast was very good however. I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast dish and the meats were fresh and succulent.

i was utterly disappointed last april when i went to the crown felt the hotel lost its personality and there irish welcome.i came away very disappointed, even though the hotel itself was lovely, room perfect, price was good for london prices but just felt the staff didnt care about the customer. i had to come back to london last month and all i can say that there was a complete change. the staff were amazing, it was great to see the bar manager talk to the customers making them feel welcome, only stayed in the bar on the friday and the live music was great.i had a great this time would recommend any one to vist the crown.

There were several reasons why we booked a large family party for Sunday lunch into the Crown Moran: we know the hotel group in Ireland, it was convenient for all the party to reach, we needed parking and the Crown Moran has that. What is more the hotel was agreeable to taking a booking for our party for a Sunday in August. By no means all hotels wanted to know us!

I have to say that Cricklewood Broadway is not exactly the smartest location in London, you can try calling it the Edgware Road, but who does that convince?

Were we pleased that we booked our lunch at the Crown Moran?. Yes, on every count.

The manager who helped arrange the booking was great and everything was in place: all who needed to could park. Some of us were coming quite a distance with grannies on board. When we arrived, we were expected and everyone from reception and bar staff to restaurant servers were spot on.

The food was great and sharing the Pan Asia cuisine was ideal. The food was good and being informal and sharing was just what we needed for the atmosphere of the party.

We stayed quite late and the restaurant staff were entirely unfazed by people deciding that they would, after all, like desserts and later on, changing their minds to have coffees too.

We had an altogether lovely family reunion and thoroughly enjoyed the Irish hospitality in a rather bleak part of London. The hotel's a beacon. Well done Moran-Bewleys.

By the time we left, there was live Irish music in the bar - perhaps we should have stayed and enjoyed even more craic.

Room Tip: None of us stayed
