First, let me say this is the first semi-negative review and I have written to Tripadvisor and I have written quite a few reviews.

Our flight to the USA in London had been canceled so we were put up in the Premier Travel Inn. It looked very "blocky" and plain from the outside but that didn't bother us. The lobby area looked nice with the bar area, reception, and restaurant layed out attractively.

Here comes the negative part...we had asked for a non-smoking room since my boyfriend and I are highly allergic to smoke. As we were walking down the hall to our room, we realized there was a strong smoke odor so we were a little worried about our room. As we opened the door, we were overwhelmed with the strong odor of smoke. Without touching a thing, we closed the door and returned to the front desk to request a room change. We were told that since we used out keycard to enter the room, it was now programmed in their computer that we are checked into that room. She would not change it. Very strange. We asked if a housekeeper could come in and spray some deordorizer so we don't get sick. She said she would send someone to fix it. Since we couldn't bear to be in the room, we told them we would take a walk for an hour ro give them time to take care of it. After an hour, we returned to the same smokey smell. Nothing had been done. We returned to the desk to request some spray. They told us they would send someone right away. Again, we told them we would stay out of the room to give them time to fix it. We went and ate dinner and returned after 1 and a half hours. Nothing had been done. By this time, I felt we had been more than patient so I attempted to call reception. It rang thirty times and they never picked up the phone. My boyfriend trecked, once again, to the front desk and told them he would spray the room if they gave him a can of deodorizor. They said they would send someone right away to our room. SHEESH! After a half hour, they sent a can of spray to us. We sprayed the room a couple of times and the spray removed a lot of the smoke smell. Needless to say, this whole experience was very negative.

Aside from the smoke problem, the room was furnished comfortably but the quilt and covers were not wide enough on the bed to cover two people so we struggled to stay covered the rest of the night. The temperature control the on shower faucet was not working correctly. We were only able to get warm water instead of hot water. The sound from the plane traffic was not bad so the rooms were pretty well sound proofed.

The food was also disappointing. The dinner and breakfast buffet had an ample assortment of foods but they were, on the most part, very bland. However, the dessert selection at dinner was nice.

The airport Hoppa Bus stopped at the hotel frequently so that was nice but it is the last hotel stop on the route returning to the airport so sometimes the bus is quite crowded when it stops at this hotel.

If you want a non-smoking room in this hotel, stress that and make sure you actually get one before you open the door to your room so you can be spared some of the headaches (literally) we had.

“Fantastic hotel for the price”

This is a great hotel for the price. Beautiful lobby and the room was very nice--great queen bed (not two singles pushed together), well appointed bathroom, large room size. This hotel felt a little more "American" to me than most European hotels. We did not stay for breakfast or use the meal facilities. You can get to the hotel from the airport on the Hoppa bus in about 10-15 minutes (4 pounds each way). It was head and shoulders above the Ibis hotel across the street.

Stayed overnite as had a midday flight and arrived previous evening. Was annoyed that at 11:00pm when we arrived had to wait for over 45 mins to check in as some asia bound flights had been cancelled due to typhoon and the airline (Qantas) decided to put up their passngers here...now thats just bad luck..BUT of the 10 or so check in terminals only 4 were operating...poor service from the hotel! Nice modern hotel, rooms are decent size & clean, beds way too soft, no aircraft noise. We had the breakfast buffet GBP7.50 per person (kids under 15 free) and it was fine. Good selection of cereals, juice, toast, yoghurt, fruit salad and warm food though the scrambled eggs were bit sad. You can easily walk to Mcdonalds on Bath road, about 2-300 metres away. If you want more choice, take the local bus which stops right outside front entrance for GBP1.50 (10 minute ride) to the Hounslow High Street (CBD) where all manner of shops including Tescos supermarket are available. Also checkout time is 12.00midday but you can extend it to 6.00pm (very useful!) for GBP25.00. Overall other than the delay in checking in, its great value and you can't get much closer to Heathrow airport.

“A Good Look”

Premier Inn London - Heathrow (Bath Road)

This hotel is truly stunning to look at. From the ouside you feel like you are getting into the most exciting hotel in London. Even the entrance hall is very nice and appealing. What i found a bit of a turn off is the location of the bar which is right alongside the passageway which means that everyone is goaking at you as you come in. It can be a bit unerving for shy people like myself.
However the room was tidy and clean as you would expect from such a new hotel.
The major drawback for me was that they didnt have room service and it made it awkward for me and my wife as we were just trying to relax on Valentines. We had to go downstairs and queue up for food. Hardly 5 star service is it??

“Clean and convenient but lousy food”

Premier Inn London - Heathrow (Bath Road)

Hotel was stopover before early flight out of Heathrow to Washington. Rooms were clean. Airconditioning did not work, so a fan (useless) was in the room. Weather was unusually warm for UK. Hoppa bus between Heathrow and hotel was fine but costs 4 pounds per person, which can add up. You can also use the frequent town buses right outside the hotel. Beds were comfortable, bathroom had musty smell, but the real negative for this hotel is that the food was truly lousy. Not just mediocre. I really mean really lousy. We ordered the buffet which we did not check out beforehand. Bad mistake. Food was overpriced. All my daughter could eat was plate of rice. This cost us 15.95 per person. The hotel needs to improve the food.
