“Across from Eurostar Station”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2014

Only stayed one night, for easy access to St.Pancras and a trip on the Eurostar to Paris. That said, the location served us well, but I'd never stay there for extended time. It's a lovely small hotel on the outside, across from a park, near some interesting areas of the city, and the lobby and other interiors are quite stylishly decorated. However, the bathroom is an example of all the wrong design decisions. It has a flimsy frosted glass door (might as well be a gauze curtain) and there's no shower enclosure, just sloping floor and drain, no hand-held shower nozzle, just a high fixed outlet up on the wall. No shelves for toiletries, clothes. What a nightmare! And a huge closet/cabinet stuck in the corner of our room took up way too much space. What were they thinking?

Hi
Stayed one night whilst visiting a conference. Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Single room was small but cosy, and had everything you needed. Modern bathroom and room was spotlessly clean and fresh.
Definitely recommend and will visit again.
Thanks

My wife and I stayed for two nights at this hotel and chose it for its location. It's two minutes walk to Kings Cross/St Pancras Stations and is ideal if you have an early train to catch.
It's an older style hotel but has been re-furbished. Our room was clean and a reasonable size with an on-suite bathroom. (Apparently some of the rooms are quite small, so I'd check when booking, particularly if you have large suitcases.) The staff were very helpful and assisted with bags, advice and directions. Breakfast was included and this was served in a central dining room downstairs. Although crowded and often at shared tables, the service was efficient and quick - and the food tasty. This is perhaps not a hotel where you would choose to stay for a couple of weeks but its location is very convenient if travelling by train and need an overnight stay.

Room Tip: If you have large bags, ask for a room on the lower floors as the stairs are narrow and there is no...

I stayed here for one night last weekend while visiting London simply because I was looking for a cheap room at short notice. This was the cheapest at £65 but even then, that's not value for money for this place.
Given the key for the top floor, there's no elevator so trudged up 5 flights of stairs with luggage.
There's a potent smell in the stairway which could be related to the old carpet or stained walls, I'm not sure.
Opening my room I was ok with the small size of the room...at least the bed looked clean. The smell was still in the air, the loo roll was half-used; a pleasant reminder someone else had recently been there.
The walls are thin and the water system is loud.
Waking in the morning very early due to the holes in the curtains, which don't fit the window. The window itself had seen far better days as well.
Unwelcoming and not good value for money.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the top floor

I stayed here with a friend for two nights and after having to climb to the very top of the hotel (approx 5-6 flights) was very disappointed with the room.

We had a twin room and there was literally just enough room for two narrow single beds with a table between. The room was hot (although you could open the window) and dark and very cramped. The decor was old and shabby and the curtains were different lengths and didn't close properly. There was a shower and toilet, but it was a sliding door, which slowly opened and didn't lock. Shower was pretty good and hot. The handbasin was in the room and the light above it was broken.

The decor in common parts was ok and looked recently redecorated. Was horrified to see the fire doors propped open with fire extinguishers though.

Breakfast was ok once the Eastern European girls acknowledged you (approx 10 minutes). I'm not sure what one of the girls was there for as she didn't seem to be serving anyone. The breakfast was a full English and you got loads of toast and tea or coffee.

All in all its not the best budget hotel I've stayed in in London, but at £85 a night and close to Kings Cross, you get what you pay for.

Great location. Room and bathroom very small - you would have trouble if you are any bigger/taller than average. Our room was up 4 flights of steep stairs so you need to be pretty fit too. Saying that though it was clean and comfortable - there was nothing really to complain about.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the ground floor

This hotel couldn't be better located - as its only a 2 minute walk to the St Pancras and Kings Cross stations. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately the hotel room is a real let down. It was old, run down and walls were paper thin- we got to hear a little too much of other guests personal lives! Every time someone used water in their room we were woken up by the sound of the water running down the pipes. The shower was the worst I've ever had as there was almost no pressure and the shower head did not work properly.

Would not stay again
