“Recommend a stay here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

My stay at the Grand Plaza Apartments was on Wednesday 10 October 2012. I stayed just one night to attend a conference the following day.
Location:
The apartments are a short walk from Bayswater. Nearby there are plenty of restaurants and a few supermarkets. It's within walking distance of Whiteley's Shopping Centre with shops, restaurants and a cinema. As a single woman I felt safe walking around the area.
Checking In:
Check in was straight forward, the staff were friendly and helpful.
Apartment:
I stayed in 110. The corridors leading off did look a little narrow but the apartment itself had plenty of space. It was in the older part of the complex so it had high ceilings and fabulous sash windows. The kitchen area was well equipped and there was a dining table and four chairs. The room also had a large bed, wardrobe, drawers and bed settee but it still felt quite spacious. The bathroom had a large bath and shower.
The apartment was very clean and I was impressed with the high standard.
Breakfast:
I booked breakfast the following morning (would have been £1 cheaper if I'd done that the night before). The choice of food was very good, the staff friendly and room was light and airy. Breakfast service doesn't start until 8 am - ideally I would have liked it to be available at 7.30 am.
Summary:
It was a very pleasurable stay and I have no hesitation in recommending the Grand Plaza. I'm sure I would have been happy had my stay been from more than a single night.

Nice, clean and the staff offered great service. God lookation. Quiet area. We had a family room.
Only thing we missed was a fitness room and some activities for the children. Close to underground stations and bus stations.

Great apartments, so well situated, nearby the centre and so well conected. So helpful staff. If we come back to London for sure we book again this nice apartments.Only a bad point, they don't have coffee pot and that's not so good for a spanish family. The area is so alive and you find good restaurants and we also found alive music on our arrival at a pub.

When we arrived the staff were lovely, we arrived a little early around 12.30, the security man took our bags from us so we could go for a stroll without the weight of the bags. When we were given our room card we soon realised we were in a basement room - initial reaction was dissapointment. Although we'd of preferred a room above ground the basement room wasn't that bad. The room on a whole was very tidy, when we opened the bathroom door however it stunk of smoke. Being an asthmatic, I was very close to asking for another room, however once the window was opened the bathroom soon aired out. I've had to give the sleep quality a 'Poor' - this perhaps does not reflect the apartments itself, but the people in the room next to us were very very noisey from 3am-4am. I managed some sleep during this stage but very little, this I may not be able to blame the hotel but those who are as inconsiderate to disrupt others during the night - dissapointing considering the hotel isn't particularly cheap and the least you expect is a peaceful sleep.
Despite the bathroom and the noisy neighbours, I'd highly recommend these apartments, they're in an excellent loaction, very modern, comfy and cosey - just wish we could have stayed for longer!!

This is the third time in 3 years that I have stayed at Grand Plaza apartments. Each time the service has been polite and efficient.

The apartments are close to two tube stations, Bayswater and Queensway, so that other parts of London can be accessed in a short time. It is also in short walking distance of shops, supermarkets, cinemas and restaurants. The Prince Alfred pub is 5 minutes walk away and this is a great place for good pub food and live music. The area around the hotel feels safe at night.

This time I stayed in a studio apartment, but have also stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with friends. The furnishings are comfortable and the kitchenette means that breakfasts and small meals can be prepared in the apartment. The current upgrade for the Olympics has modernised the rooms. The one free load of laundry and free wifi is an added bonus.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor behind the lobby are easiest to navigate to, but lifts reach all floors.

Chose this place because of the location and because w wanted a separate bedroom because we have a 2 year old. They put us in a double accidentally instead of a triple, so our pull out couch didn't have a mattress and we were missing a chair. Reception worked to fix it, but it had to wait over night. The location is great and the rooms roomier than I expected for central London. Would stay here again!

The Grand Plaza Apartments provide everything you need for an affordable stay in the Bayswater, London area. Just two blocks from the tube with a lively neighborhood where you can choose from several restaurants, including fast food, or stop and puorchase take away meals after a long day of touring the fabulous city of London! We spent four days at Grand Plaza and enjoyed every minute! Our double executive room included a very nice breakfast and free wi-fi. The bed and furniture were very comfortable; the small kitchen area was quite adequate; and the full bathroom was luxurious with a large tub and shower. Everything was exactly as described on their website. Laundry service is available with the great perk of getting your first load of laundry done for free! Just drop it off and pick it up later...washed, dried, and folded! It was lovely to come home to Grand Plaza after long days of sightseeing London! We shall return!

Grand Plaza apartments give you the independence and catering flexibility of your own home together with the comfort and service of a 4* hotel. Think of us as your home, but with cleaning, catering, porters and reception staff thrown in. Serviced apartments are the new direction for the hotel industry. They provide a ready made home rather than a ready made room. Each apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen. You choose whether to enjoy your own home cooking or try the Grand Plaza Breakfast or visit one of the myriad of restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel (or heat up a takeaway!) Grand Plaza is the largest Hotel/Apartment complex in Bayswater. We won the 2009 award for best serviced apartments in London as a result of votes from the readers of Business Destinations Magazine. We accommodate more people each day (tourist, leisure, romantic and business) than any other Serviced Apartment Hotel in the area.We are located in the centre of the West End overlooking the precise type of garden square which Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts climbed into in the Golden Globe nominated film, Notting Hill! We look forward to providing you with a home in central London. ... more   less
