“A london chain hotel with personality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

i needed to be in central Camden so paid more than i am used to for a hotel. Did i regret it? A definite no i did not. the staff are friendly and helpful which is not always the case in London. They recognised me from check and sorted out every little issue such as my friend not remembering where her premier inn hotel was to sorting out the taxi to get her there. My friends who visited me there were all impressed by the size and quality of the room.

What really makes this the place to stay is its position. you have all the wonder and magic of Camden on your door step yet a 5 min tube ride has you in London. A five minute stroll down the canal has you in pretty rural looking scenes. As you can tell i loved my stay here. Yes there are cheaper hotels but if you can afford to stay here and love Camden then this is the place for you. I had breakfast at the hotel( a bargain at £7.50) but did not eat as there are too many tempting world wide cuisines on the doorstep to tempt me.

some say its noisy well yes there is the background buzz of Camden but if you are late in as i was you soon sleep.

Oh, I’ll just back off on that one. You made it so lively, so picturesque … you’re our best advocate!

Nothing to add except a big massive ‘thank you’ from us all! A mini ‘standing ovation’ is always appreciated down here and it just makes us die to do more for you … would you consider another take?

We shall certainly hope so. Thank you again.

Your all singing and dancing Camdeners!! and Eddy.

We stayed here for two nights and shared a family room over the half term. We chose this hotel for location - Camden is a brilliant place, its two stops from Kings Cross and the hotel is two minutes walk from the tube. Our room was clean, bedding was crisp and comfortable and there was a choice of pillows. The bathroom was functional and again very clean. There was everything we needed -two slight negatives were the size of the room -(the four of us were a bit cramped ) and the view from the window was a roof enclosed by very high walls-apparently none of the family rooms have a view. Neither of these points really affected our stay but thought it worthy of mentioning. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and it was really good, lots of choice both hot and cold. It was served until 10.30 - much appreciated after a late night!
The staff were very professional and welcoming. We liked this hotel it had a good feel and we will visit again- looking forward to a summer visit.

Room Tip: Family rooms don't have a view but are very quiet

Yes, I think you summarized it perfectly. Our family rooms offer 2 double beds, near enough an american standard, and they are very quiet since they face inwards.

So we all would like to thank you for sharing your "good feel", it made our day!

We, too, do look forward to your summer stay! Give us a little notice please so that we could add some treats to it. Thank you.

stayed at this hotel for two nights last weekend , service was excellent, room was clean and spacious with a view over the lock, breakfast was very tasty with a good choice of food.the hotel is idealy situated for camden markets and shops. The only downside was the noise from the bar and club across the lock but this wasnt a major problem. My wife and I had a great weekend and would stay again thank you to all your helpful staff .

An expensive hotel that we stayed in last Thursday and Friday nights, the bath and shower didn't work properly and they had to only lend us another room to shower in! Also the breakfast food was not good!

Room Tip: Always book online to get a better price; use Expedia.

We're sorry you had to go through this. The cause was a faulty pump in our overall system and it had been changed the same day.

About our breakfast buffet, I'd like to get a little more information so that I understand better please. Can I contact you direct through Trip's internal messaging service please? We do quality checks daily and our teams are on the balls for every special requests (eggs, omelettes etc.) but also when you're not sure or satisfied about something.

Hopefully I'll be able to see what you saw and maybe be wow you back? That'd be nice,

Thank you for letting us know!

We stayed here for a night after a friends wedding reception. The room was lovely, perfectly clean, tidy, spacious, and the balcony over looked the lock. I couldn't fault the room in any way, apart from the bath robes were a little ropey, only if you want to be picky!
Staff were perfectly professional and friendly.
Would recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: we had an Executive room, very nice indeed.

That's very pleasant of you, thank you!

But yes, be picky. We like that and that can only make us better. So point taken ... and maybe more softener for the next wash?

Thank you again. Congratulations to the newly wedded and don't forget about your London pad please ... we'll be here waiting for you.

This hotel was in the perfect location for going to a concert at Dingwalls. I was a bit worried ( coming from the sticks) about walking the back streets of London late at night, not being able to get a taxi, tubes not running etc, etc. So we opted to stay a hop across the lock literally to the venue.
Travelled light and walked up from St Pancras station which took about 30 minutes during busy- with- shoppers time and 20 walking briskly early morning. Could have used the tube which was also very handy and if I had been staying longer to see some sights probably would have found it convenient.
Check in and out of hotel easy peasy. Staff very friendly and helpful, room fine - overlooking the street could have paid extra for a lock view but didn't plan to be in the hotel that much.
After hearing tragic tales of a stay in another Holiday Inn near to St Pancras that a friend made over Christmas I was a little wary - so I looked hard for signs of 'muckyness" and 'doors which did not fit' and other horrors she described from her hotel.
Although I searched quite hard all I could find was spotlessness, and a clean, clean hotel. Although it was virtually minutes from Camden markets' hustle and bustle, the hotal was quiet and peaceful. Can't say what the food was like as we sampled the street food of the markets ( which was very fabulous)

Room Tip: Pay extra for a Lock view if you want to look out of the window a lot.

So, we had our little inspector, didn't we? No problem at all, it's good to have an extra pair of eyes. Thank you!

And for your next visit (please?), we'll provide the white gloves. We love challenges ;-)

Now about travelling, St Pancras is about 20 minutes indeed walking distance and less than 10 minutes by Tube. Brave you! Next time, use the side street. Arlington Road leads you directly up to us, away from shoppers. Then you could return to the high street once on shopping mode?

Very nice review. Thank you.

Eddy & the clean lot, the Camdeners!

Having had to stay at Holiday Inns in the US, especially those by the air ports, I had very low expectations to the quality of this hotel, but was pleasantly surprised. Stayed here 2 nights for business. When I arrived, my booking had gotten cancelled for some reasons, and I had to call my employer for them to sort out. My room was very spacious with a double bed and a big writing desk! The bath room had toiletries and a tub. Both soft and firm pillows were offered! The standard was much better than what I expected from a holiday inn! Location in Camden is good and it's close to the tube. There's also a Whoole Foods nearby, for great quality food (got breakfast there instead of at the Hotel). My only complaint is the ridiculus prices they charge for wifi in your room, which is essential for a business trip! It's 2013, charging for wifi is just ridiculus if you aim to be a good Hotel for travellers. There is free wifi in the lobby, but please reconsider charging so much for wifi in the rooms!!

Well, we do love to surprise but not at the expense of our colleagues from overseas ... so we're a little sad at the same time than appreciating every bit of your review. Thank you!

Of course we would have preferred to keep you with us for breakfast too but yes, the choice around us makes for good competition! Talking about which, GBP12.00 for a full day of high speed WiFi internet (premium access) doesn't seem to break the bank according to a very recent article of The Telegraph. Yet, we're looking into this and meanwhile, we do provide that same top level access throughout our public areas for Free. Aren't we nice? That gives the chance to see more of you and look after you proper ...

See, we ARE trying. So will you come back? Soon? We'd love to.

Eddy & some real nice Camdeners
