“Execellent hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We arrived at 10am and they had a room ready for us which was great. The warm welcome cookie was also fantastic! The room wasn't huge but it was definitely comfortable for two people. Free wifi throughout the hotel was very good, helped us keep in touch with our family back home. The apple computer in the rooms was an nice touch it allowed me to send pictures to my family and prepare for the next day. The beds were comfortable and most importantly the rooms were very clean! The room service was pretty pricy we paid $30.00 for two ham and cheese paninis and two cokes so we only ordered room service once (they were quick though). The breakfast was buffet style didn't offer a lot of variety (eggs, sausage, yogurts, fruits, toast, cereals, etc.) but it was enough. The location of the hotel was pretty great, a short walk from the Pimlico underground and the bus stop was two blocks away! (wish i would have known this before my 3rd day there but once I knew it made getting around much less of a hassle) Overall, this hotel made my trip that much better! I would definitely stay there again.

This is the second time I have stayed at ths hotel (last time it was a Mint hotel) and it really was one of the best hotel experiences I have had. Service was impeccable, room was clean, and lots of little touches like a complimentary bottle of water in the room, good quality towels, and a freshly baked cookie on arrival made it a pleasant and hassle-free stay. I also liked that there is a PC in the room so you can check emails or look up local attractions easily, as well as watch TV, listen to radio or watch a DVD (If you have brought one!) The hotel also benefits from a quiet but very convenient location, within walking distance of Pimlico tube station. I stayed here with my Mum as a weekend treat, we had room service on Saturday night and the food was delicious. Breakfast on Sunday was also impressve - despite having our breakfast at the busiest time, the staff were efficient and friendly, and very helpful. I would definitely reccommend, and plan to use them again next time I need somewhere to stay in London.

stayed here recently and the location is fantastic. Its the first time that I have stayed at the doubletree hotel chain and it did seem a bit like a hotel that had been designed by a focus group. The warm cookie on arrival was a nice touch and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The apple computer in the room seemed a good idea but it was placed on a desk that was too high to use comfortably and there was also no bath in the room just a shower.

OK overall though.

Let me say that I have stayed here before and I will continue to go there when I am in London. Hopefully useful info is that there is on site car park underneath the hotel but boy is it a tight squeeze - If you have a big car like mine(Mercedes C class) it was very hard to get it into the space - about 15 point turn.
Bar Food - I went to the bar on teh first floor - good atmosphere - food was quick and decent - but for the last 12 months the menu has not changed. Green curry, Steak, fish and chips, burger - all good but please add something else. Breakfast is the best though

A year since my last visit to this hotel. The rooms are still as per my last review and offer a good standard of accomodation. However, the carpet throughout the hotel was now starting to show more signs of wear and needs replacing in high traffic areas (other than the lobby that was redesigned). The most disappointing aspect of my stay was breakfast. When the property was a City Inn/Mint Hotel, breakfast was excellent and was very high quality. The Doubletree breakfast is now really disappointing. The a la carte breakfast has gone. All buffet food was of low quality including cooked and cold items. The selection was pitiful. Very disappointing, cheap and nasty pastries!! The orange juice was watered down juice from concentrate. That says it all. If all you want is a room, then for the area, this hotel is fine. The demise of Mint Hotels is a shame, because the UK has lost a decent mini-chain that looked after its customers. This hotel has gone from decent to only half decent.

We arrived after a long flight and an equally long cab ride from the airport to the hotel, but from the moment we stepped in everything was very efficient and surprisingly warm. The welcome cookies were delicious and we ended up buying several boxes back as souvenirs. The hotel's location in westminster can't be beat - walking distance to the attractions in that area (Abbey, Tate, etc.) and a short walk to the train station. From the Tate you can also catch the Tate Boat which runs between Tate Britain and Tate Modern quite frequently (hourly I think) for another great ride. Rooms are on the small side (really quite small) but that is to be expected everywhere in London. Breakfast was nice but the menu doesn't change daily so it got a little repetitive after 8 days, but the quality was good so I'm not complaining. Complimentary internet was a nice touch, as was the Mac screen that doubled as a comp and TV saving precious space. Shower was fantastic which was a big plus for me as I love nice hot showers. Staff were friendly and helped us book cabs or tours and gave suggestions of what we might want to see or do. All in all it was a great 8-night stay and I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Basic rooms are small so if you really want a large room you'll have to upgrade
