“"Excellent"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

We recently stayed in a triple room on the third floor which was very clean with comfortable beds. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was included and was excellent, including fruit, cereals, croissants plus a cooked choice, toast with coffee/tea/juice. The waiting staff were very polite and obliging. It was close to Victoria Stations and the main attractions were either within walking distance or a short ride by public transport. I would have no problem with staying there again. It would appear to have recently been decorated and was very fresh and welcoming.

Room Tip: The third floor room was quiet

We stayed in one of the Harry Potter rooms, making our HP crazy daughter very happy :) Excellent location, close to Victoria Station, short walk to Harrods or Regent Street. Amazing breakfasts that are part of the board price. Happy, friendly and helpful staff.

That's great to hear that your daughter enjoyed the Wizard Chambers! Our designer trawled antiques fairs and auctions to put the look together, and the result is very atmospheric, and unique. I am glad that you also enjoyed the breakfast. I will pass your kind comments on to the team.
Best wishes

The hotel was in a great area with everything nearby including Victoria Station ( for trains and tube). The staff was very nice and the breakfast was so good and exaggerated! The room was fantastic - we were in 6 and it was great to stay all together in one room. It was very clean and the room was re-ordered every day. It was a little hot in the room but the radiators could be shut off. We were very, very happy and should we return to London we will definitely return to the Georgian House. In fact, we can't wait to return!! Thanks to you all for making this a fantastic vacation!

Room Tip: We had a Westminster apartment - underground and it was really fun. Not humid with lots of sun anyw...

Dear Loreta
Thank you for such a nice review. We read out customer reviews at our staff meeting in the morning, and for our team to hear your warm and appreciative words, is the best reward we can ask for. We can't wait for you to come back - just send us an email, and we can make sure that you have the same apartment that you enjoyed so much this time.
With best wishes

Our family of five stayed at the Westminster apartment, which belongs to the hotel and is just around the corner. The top floor apartment was light, bright, clean and modern with everything you could wish for and breakfast back at the hotel included. The hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly and the place was a delight.

Excellent location - central london, 4mins walk to Victoria Coach/ Train Station, handy for visiting just for a weekend; we arrived in London 10.30 am and were able to check in straight away. Very helpful and friendly staff, looking after the guests.

On the bad side...I wouldn't really say it was a 4 star hotel...our room was on the top floor which meant we had to walk about 4 floors up as there is no lift (fair enough helpful bag carried our bag); room wasn't really big and bathroom was tiny. Builders were doing some work in the hotel during our stay so you could see the materials left just by the entrance.
Nice breakfast and the staff was very attentive, but small breakfast room - would be easier if it was a buffet style rather than order - less waiting time and everyone could help themself.

Overall I would say the hotel is great for location and staff, but there is room from improvement about hotel itself - the price is too high

Room Tip: We booked through booking.com, but turned out after that booking directly through the hotel would be...

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. Your comments are most appreciated. I know that you had a family room, and this can feel much more cramped when you have the additional beds. I have tried to describe this clearly on our own website, but I worry that the space available to us on Booking.com is not as much, and so it is harder to emphasise that family rooms are less spacious. We will review our descriptions to try to be as clear as possible.
Thank you for making the point that we offered a better price for direct bookings - we always run a promotion or offer to ensure that the best value to our guests is via direct booking, so I would advise checking our website before booking.
You might like to know, that we agree with you about our dining room being too small. We have plans to extend it, which are slowly progressing, and we expect to unveil our spacious new dining room later this year.
I am very pleased that you enjoyed the service, and that the location was so convenient for you - we are lucky to be close to Victoria Station for transport, yet in a lovely quiet, safe, beautiful street.
Best wishes

We stayed in the family room (lovely king size bed and two double sofa beds, en suite shower room) at the Bower house (having located the hotel via the room for 5 website) with our three children on a museum trip to London. It was easy to find, booking through the hotel was ~£40 cheaper and they were great. The Bower house is just a 2 minute walk round the corner, the hotel is easy to find and the rooms were clean and generously sized. The receptionist didn't bat an eyelid about being asked for a plastic container as one of our children was feeling sick and the porter didn't flinch at being asked to help unblock the sink when I got back with the plastic bucket too late! The staff were tremendously helpful about him being ill, advising where the nearest chemist was and telling us to skype them using the tablet computer in the room rather than go across to main reception if we needed anything else.

He woke up full of beans the following day as 5 year olds often do and enjoyed breakfast with the rest of us. The breakfast menu was good and varied with nice choices on the childrens menu too (mini cooked breakfast with two fried quails eggs, chipolatas, cherry tomatos, bacon and mushrooms, pancake and fruit or french brioche toast with cinnamon.) In addition the buffet was plentiful and the jugs for juice and water were regularly refilled. The glasses for juice were a good size too unlike the thimbles you sometimes get.

The staff were informative about other things like bus routes and which bus stop too.

The only improvement we would suggest would be that a thick curtain enabling us to shut off the room with one sofa bed from the other room with the king size bed and the sofa bed would have made it easier for my husband and I to read /watch tv/chat whilst the children were settling to sleep in the evening.

We would definitely return.

Dear Clare
Thank you for your lovely review. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We have been working very hard to improve our breakfast for little ones, and the menu you mention is new this year. It is fantastic to hear that your children enjoyed the menu - I will pass your feedback on to the rest of the team, who will be over the moon. I am glad that the staff were helpful when your son was sick. I know how miserable it can be to have a sick child away from home, and I am really pleased that the team supported you.
I think that it's a really interesting idea, to have a curtain or divider between the 2 rooms in the suite, and I can see why it would be useful. I will speak to our designer about it.
Thank you for all your comments, feedback really helps us to keep improving.
I hope that you are able to come and stay with us again one day.
Best wishes

We were fortunate to benefit from a three night offer with breakfast included. After scanning other small hotels in such a central location this one offered by far the best deal. With Breakfast included and no WiFi charges

The Hotel is well located 10/15 mins on foot from Victoria. We took a taxi from Waterloo and this cost less than £10.00.

It is a lovely old building in a very nice street. This is essentially an exceptional quality B+B with a (very helpful) 24 hour reception. So unlike a Hotel it has no Bar.

Our rooms were on the top floor (4th). No lift. We already knew this and it wasn't a problem for us but anyone with mobility issues should definitely discuss the location and size of their room. Both rooms were beautifully decorated. One was compact with a larger bathroom, with shower and bath. The other was much larger with a very small, but perfect bathroom, with shower only, Which had great water pressure and plenty of hot water by the way! Facilities included;- Flat screen TV/Radio - Telephone- Digital Safe- Hospitality Tray- Hairdryer and Toiletries. Being on the top floor meant we were not disturbed by any traffic noise and as anywhere, you are at the mercy of other guests for internal noise. I don't know how much traffic noise you would hear on the lower floors, but the road didn't seem especially busy. Rooms were serviced daily and discreetly. For those of you who can't live without it, we found our WiFi and mobiles worked everywhere.

Breakfast was lovely. Freshly prepared and with a good choice, including vegetarian. We found all areas to be well maintained and very clean.

The staff were polite, very helpful and charming. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Thank you for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: I recommend phoning or emailing to discuss the location of the room and the size of room/bathroom. T...

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and useful review. It gives us such pleasure to hear that you enjoyed your stay. You make some very important points - firstly, that we will always guarantee to offer guests who book direct with us the best deal possible, and secondly, you make a very important point about the difference between the rooms. The building was built in 1851 by my great great grandfather, and it was certainly not designed as a modern hotel, with all the rooms the same size and shape. They are arranged on different floors, some with baths, some showers, some incredibly high ceilings and balconies, and some with quaint sloping ceilings and tiny fire places. If you have any mobility issues please book direct and we can make sure that you are given a room that will suit you.
Thank you for your kind comments, that I will see are passed on to all of our team. It is very encouraging. We very much hope that you will stay with us again,
Best wishes
