“Room let down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Had booked this hotel on 19th September for a twin bedded room. Arrived at 10am to let them know we had arrived and put our bags in luggage room. Had great day in London with friends and arrived back at hotel at approx. 10pm only to be told there was no room for us. It was overbooked. Was offered two single rooms not even together or on the same floor but one on 3rd floor and one on 5th. Was just offered free breakfast which we didn't want as going out with friends for breakfast. Rubbish service, why bother to book early for them to take our money straight away and then not get what we booked. Will not be going again and certainly would not ever recommend this hotel. I could go on......

After staying in hostels for 6 weeks I was very excited to stay here even though I had read the reviews on trip advisor and they were not that good. I went in not expecting a lot. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes the rooms are small but have everything you need for a budget hotel. There is a lift which is greatly appreciated and the room are clean and serviced daily. It is within short walking distance to tesco, oxford st, paddington station and there are multiple restaurants around if you do not want to eat at the restaurant on site.
The wifi is a slight issue but if you are signed up to the free Cloud or the O2 network it's not a far walk to get free hi speed wifi.
The staff were lovely on my visit and on the day I checked out I had store my bag at the back of the luggage room. Upon coming to get it I discovered the baggage room was so full I had no possible way to get my bag out without pulling over 40 suitcases out of the way. Reception and the on site information site guy realised my problems and the info guy climbed over all the luggage and got my bags out for me! A small gesture that was very much appreciated by this very weary traveller. I would not hesitate to stay here again or suggest it to other people.

The big plus of the hotel is that it is near Paddington Station. The negatives are that the rooms are very small, the staff is unfriendly, there is no air-conditioning in the rooms, the wifi is very expensive and it is very noise. It is one of those hotels that you have ticked of and will not make a booking again.

Fantastic location for our purposes, Radio 2 Hyde Park picnic in the park concert. Great looking hotel, nearly all staff we met were really helpful, apart from one receptionist, I think possible manger, really couldn't be bothered! We were given a box room, maybe smaller, sure it was used as a shoe box previously, pathetic accommodation. Though I had read many previous reviews advising similar I thought they were joking, sadly very accurate due to the rooms being tiny and no AC the rooms were red hot, so we opened the window, which then restricted access to the bed as it opened wide into the room, no restrictor on it!! Then the smell of cigarettes from outside the back of the hotel drifted in. Had the room been of sensible proportions I would rated it a possible 4, seriously Westpoint you really need to listen and take notice of the reviews other wise it's pointless leaving feed back?

I was a bit apprehensive about staying in this hotel as we usually stick to the well known chains. However, the location was perfect and the price was great so we gave it a go.

The hotel looks amazing from the outside. Check in was very quick and easy. The desk staff were very friendly. We had a triple room which was a fair size. The third bed was a proper bed and not a sofa bed of pull out. The bathroom was small, but adequate. It was very clean.

The hotel staff were happy to look after our baggage on check out day which is a saviour if you're travelling from Paddington. It's only a 2 minute walk.

Overall...great location, friendly staff and clean.

We traveled to London with no hotel reservation which turned out to be a good thing! Happy to have found this hotel, such a nice location in a street full on places to eat & drink and a couple of minutes away from Paddington station, where you can have direct access to Heathrow via train. We stayed in a suite,a cozy little apartment with a small kitchen - fully equipped - allowing us for to prepare some quick meals, although you have plenty of options outside anyway. There is a supermarket nearby (Tesco - 24h open but only sells alcohol until 11pm if you're interested!). We also had a little living room with tv & dvd player. Nice staff - particularly the Portuguese. The hotel has it's own restaurant, a brazilian Rodizio, worth a try. Make sure you're hungry! You have to pay wi-fi and it's not really cheap. Best if you just go across the street, have a burguer and use their free wifi. Lastly they will store your luggage, for that last day of touring London. Overall a nice place to stay, we thought of staying only one night and then look for something more within our budget but we ended there our 5 nights and was worth it. We got an ok rate for the suite but if you don't need all that space and facilities than you can find some other options around that same area.
