“Great Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

We made use of the Sloane Club just recently as part of trip to London for a family party. Its probably the best location for Kings road shopping, Cinema, Sloane square, tube station etc and many great restaurants too. Hotel has a warm feel with a traditional look all around really. All very posisitve really and all very helpful with us.

Having arrived by train on a wet and miserable night, the golden glow of the lights coming from The Sloane Club was a welcoming sight and haven.
Entering the building is like stepping back in time, from the elegant furnishings and flower displays to the gentle ticking of the clock. It was lovely not to have the sound of mobile phones ringing or background music repeating itself. Staff on reception were welcoming and eager to provide assistance and help with directions etc. The corridors are lined with wonderful comic strip illustrations, which you also have the chance to buy.
My room was spotless, and the bathroom was well equipped with all soaps and shower gels. The bed was the comfiest I have ever had in a hotel, and I slept very well. Two bottles of water were provided as well as drink making for hot beverages.
Breakfast was in an elegant room, and an excellent range of cereals and fruit were provided. Cooked breakfasts could be ordered seperately and from what I saw looked delicious.

Room Tip: Not all rooms are en suite, so do make sure you ask when making a booking.

The Sloane Club is a private club available to members and their guests. I being neither won seven nights at the Club as the results of a charity auction. I will start by saying that the this is one of the most elegant and well maintained places I have ever stayed but all at a price. Plan on paying twice as much for things like breakfast and laundry here than you would pay at the nearby Sloane Sq hotel. Also be prepared to take a step back in time to a day when men and women dressed for dinner and in some cases breakfast. There is no business center and cell conversations are not allowed in public areas. All of this said, if you get the opportunity to stay here and can adapt to the rules I highly recommend the stay.

Room Tip: Many different types of rooms, we had a double with bath in suite.

I'm a member of the California Club and took advantage of it's reciprocal arrangement with the Sloane Club, which is in a great and super convenient neighborhood. Room was no frills and a bit dated but that doesn't matter...service was great and you feel very exclusive staying there!

Room Tip: Pay extra for the suite; I heard the rooms are a bit small.

Stayed here as part of a package. Staff friendly enough and location is top notch - a 4 minute walk from Sloane Square tube, another 6 mins to Hyde Park. However the place is let down by the rooms, or at least the one we stayed in. No airconditioning, just a fan that blew cold air noisely, incredibly soft beds with virtually no support. Just about enough room to negotiate around the bed, bathroom was a good size though. Can't comment on value as it was part of a package.

We stayed here over the Olympics, and were pleased with their room rates and reasonable cancellation policy when the rest of London was requiring full pre-payment of truly outrageous hotel rates. I had reciprocity here from a local club, and while I have other hotels in London that I might enjoy more, the price here is a great value. We will consider returning.

Yes, the rooms are small, but they are very well kept, and the beds and nice sheets make for a comfortable sleep. Our bathroom was tiny, and the vinyl floor was well worn, but it did appear to be immaculately clean. They provide l'Occitane toiletries, which were appreciated. Internet was not the easiest to use, but eventually did work for us after a call to the front desk. The clientele here looked very nice, and there are large numbers of Americans visiting as reciprocal guests of various upscale clubs. Along with the regular membership, this makes for a very nice environment.

I will agree with whoever said that calling for a reservation was not the pleasantest experience. I had to ask for a confirmation number, and I never did get a written confirmation, which made me uneasy. I also didn't think the person I spoke with was very friendly. The front desk was quite helpful though, and arranged a car service for me with ease. This is actually a much larger hotel than I was expecting (138 rooms), and they seem to take up a good part of the real estate on Lower Sloane Street, which is a fantastic address, and very convenient to the Sloane Square tube. We enjoyed the Italian deli across the street for a nice cappuccino. So, I would recommend this hotel for a nice and relatively reasonably priced stay in London.

Stayed here a couple of times and plan to go back regularly, the rooms are lovely, if sometimes small, bathrooms great, breakfast delicious (although the no business meetings rule should be more strongly enforced), drinks in the bar excellent and overall ambiance thoroughly lovely. Big fan.
