Just had a 3 night stay in one of their "Studio Apartments". Let me tell you in my opinion what the pros and cons of this accommdation were:
Really good location, ideal for acessing the underground and bus services. The accommodation is on a nice quiet road. "Apartment" was nice and clean. Staff appeared nice. Window in the room opened really wide so was nice and airy. The bathroom was nice and had a decent shower, once you waited for the water to heat up. Someone came in each day and made the bed up and changed the towels if they needed changing. It is possible to access the roof in this accommodation and the view is amazing, you're up higher than most of the chimneys around you so its really a stunning view.
The term "Studio Apartment" is used in the very loosest term. We were in apt 52. The room is not big enought to swing a cat, mind you, thinking about it, dont even bring your mouse because you wouldnt be able to swing that either. Absolutely tiny. Its supposed to have a double bed but in reality its not much bigger than a decent sized single bed. A word of warning, if you are having a shower make sure you shut the bathroom door otherwise the fire alarm goes off, which happened to us. Not sure what would have happened if we had tried to cook something in the kitchen.........
Now the biggest con of these apartments is the stairs, dear god they are unreal. The first two flights are not bad but the other million flights up to the apartment are all twisty and turney, different depths and quite steep with no handrail on a lot of them which makes it extremely difficult getting up and down carrying cases. In fairness i am definitley not the fittest person on the planet by any stretch of the imagination but even Mo Farah would have difficulty negotiating these stairs. The lock on the outside of the door was falling off and it took ages to work out how to actually lock the door. Be aware that you need to use the key to lock the doors they do not lock automatically when you shut the door. You have to turn the key to lock the door then turn it back as if you are opening the door but stop just before the lock turns and take the key out.
They also only provide 1 pillow person so might be an idea to ask for a second one on arrival because believe me you wont want to trawl up and down the stairs any more than you have to. They do provide an ironing board and iron in the room but the ironing board is about 2ft long and you have to put it on the bed to iron but its better than nothing.
The paintwork in the commune areas is dirty and worn and could do with freshing up.
I do think that these apartments are overpriced for the accommodation you get, but the location is really good.
Would I use this accommodaton again - yes I would provided that we could request an apartment on a lower floor.
