“Almost rooms by the hour standard”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

I stayed one night, as did a colleague. When we walked in, I felt like walking right out again but was too tired to go out looking for another hotel. My room was basically a shoebox in the basement with odd furniture and dusty corners that looked out at a wall. The breakfast room is tiny, dark and depressing. The only OK thing was the coffee. I've stayed in hotels in Paris and other cities with small rooms many times, but never as bad as this. I felt embarrassed on the behalf of everyone in the UK about what people from other countries might think. Take my advice and go elsewhere.

“not a bad choice but bring your own spoon!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

The location is good, walking distance from subway and train station, so i can travel with to the heart of London and suburbs like Windsor. There were groceries and fast food around, but nothing quite good to eat.

i like the big windows and the balcony, but the carpet was a bit dirty. The toliet is tiny but quite tidy.

Narrow staircases. The breakfast room is underground and quite small. Limited choices of food but I think it's better than that I had in NYC...(my goodness there was just carbs....)And they provided fruits. Yet when I want to make myself instant coffee in the room, I found only cups but no spoons. I went to the reception for it, that guy said the breakfast room was closed and nothing he could borrow me....what the hell?

“WORST "hotel" I've ever stayed at, spend your $$ elsewhere!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

Wow. I reserved this room for one night during a July 2012 England vacation because it was close to Paddington and Marylebone stations - SO GLAD I only had it for one night. This "hotel" room was the smallest I've ever stayed in, even for a single. The door would barely swing open due to the bed and the chair. 5 flights of stairs to my room, no lift/elevator. No soap (!) or hair dryer in the room, I had to ask front desk for them & took forever to get them, I think they actually had to go to the store to buy soap. Advertised free Wifi didn't work in my top-floor room, signal too weak, I actually had to go sit on the stairwell downstairs by front desk to get it to work. Filthiest TV remote I've ever seen, I Lysoled it & still didn't want to touch it. Dirty rug on floor, hair (not mine) on phone. No hot water or water pressure in shower in AM!! No heat in room & it got cold, no extra blankets either. Very flimsy pillows, only 1 in pillowcase. Bathroom fan wouldn't turn off & I had to call front desk yet again to find out how to make it turn off. Sometime after midnight people were clopping up the stairs to rooms, yelling at the top of their lungs for other people ("Derek! Derek! Which room you in man?!") & at each other. I had to finally angrily yell out from my bed "HEY!" to get them to shut up. Breakfast was in the basement in a cramped room with no windows. All that for 85£, about $125, unbelievable. That would never fly in US for that much money, they couldn't stay in business. As I left guy at front desk said "you no worry about no wifi and no hot water, you come back again, it be better." Yeah right buddy, never.

Room Tip: I can't imagine there are any good rooms in this place, go somewhere else.

“Good value and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2012

We had a quad room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Room small but OK, good value for money given the location. Our room had the double bed and twins in different sections, which gave us a bit more privacy. Breakfast room small as commented elsewhere, Staff all friendly and polite. Five minutes walk from Paddington and from Hyde Park.

“You're not going to do better for this price/location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2012 via mobile

Comfortably within zone 1 and just outside the congestion charge its in a fantastic location. Approx 400m from the nearest tube its very convenient for hitting all the sites.
Yes the rooms aren't huge, but they're enough for just sleeping/getting ready in.
Noise isn't a problem, cleanliness is great, temperature is fine.
For just £55 a night in this location (with option £10 a day parking) its really a bit of a steal!
