“Friendly atmosphere and tasty food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

3 of us had a bottle of wine, hummus dip to share and a mixed platter of Eritrean/Ethiopian food. We paid about £15 each and we're very happy with the meal but couldn't finish it as there was a lot!

The doro wot and tibs were delicious. And the injera tasted just like the real thing! The staff were very nice and the decor was modern and traditional at the same time. Would be even better if it was BYO!

“Absolutely brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

I have been here many times in the last year with different friends and family and had my birthday dinner here in July with 24 friends. Every time we come here, the service is fantastic. The bubbly and friendly manager makes everyone feel welcome and really valued. The food is great, full of flavour, very decent sized portions and with great variety. There is something for everyone on the menu and the chef will cater for your spice preference! I took my parents here a few months ago and my mother normally hates foreign food, but even she got stuck it, ate with her hands and was really impressed. I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for fantastic service, food, atmosphere and experience.

“An Eritrean delight; a must visit...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012 via mobile

When you think, "What do you want for dinner tonight?", Eritrean is probably not the first to come to mind. But oh how it should be...

Having lived opposite for sometime, we regularly have walked past and admired from outside. Tonight, we finally decided to go in. The interior is stunningly decorated with artefacts and paintings from native Eritrea on Africa's East coast, and the atmosphere didn't fail to disappoint.

Confused by what to eat, we opted for the Chef's platter. The warm and friendly waiter brought this over and explained the selection, accompanied by fresh sourdough pancakes to eat with. No cutlery here...hands it is. It's ok though, there is a specific hand wash only room to clean and wash.

After feasting on the incredible platter, we decided to end with the traditional coffee. This involved the presenting of roasted beans to smell, before being served them as a coffee with incense and popcorn. Yes, popcorn!

A brilliant evening and one all should try, we will definitely be returning.

“Terrible value, poisonous food!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

We went for the chef's platter which was over £50 for four people. The portions were tiny and we immediately thought it was extremely bad value for money. We all had very sore stomachs after the meal for about 2 days and my wife vomited and had diahorrea. I will never go back despite the nice decor and friendly service.
