Adulis has recently opened up on St John's Hill Clapham Junction. It makes a nice change to have something a bit different on our doorstep. Eritrean food is lovely and I can highly recommend their in-house honey wine, which is great alongside the mix of spicy and flavoursome foods. We tried a mixed 'meat' selection, which included fish dishes and was lovely. Lots of strong flavours. All food is eaten without cutlery, but with the traditional sour dough flat bread (I think called Taita), which makes for an interesting eating experience.
The staff here were very friendly and helpful and happy, which creates a nice atmosphere and relaxed feeling to the place. It's nicely decked out and you can have a quieter table up on the mezzanine level if you wish. Beware the slightly over zealous air conditioning unit, but on the whole this is a comfortable, friendly restaurant with good food and service.
