“Fantastic base in London!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

Our family of four stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment at 196 Bishopsgate for 6 nights in July 2014. The split level apartment was incredibly spacious, 2 large bedrooms both with televisions, huge family room with another television, kitchen with full sized fridge, microwave, oven and dishwasher. There is an alcove off the bathroom with a washer/dryer (very handy). We were very comfortable at 196 and would definately stay again and recommend to anyone travelling to London. The Liverpool St Station is right across the road making it easy to get around and there are also many buses going right past the door. There is a Pret a Manger downstairs that opens at 6am for an early morning coffee as well as the great range of food they have. Tesco supermarket metres away and M & S food at the train station making it easy to have food on hand in the apartment. We bought breakfast supplies to cook for ourselves but ate out the rest of the time. A huge thankyou to 196 Bishopsgate, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you.

It was our 38th wedding anniversary and we went to see The Lion King, I wanted somewhere special to stay, 196 has large rooms that are well decorated and furnished, they are clean and excellently presented. Also a very good location for most parts of London, just a few minutes from the tube and train stations
The apartment, meal out and the show made it a very special day.
I would thoroughly recommend 196 Bishopsgate

My family and I stayed here for 5 nights at the end of June and we left very impressed with the service, quality of the room and location.

This is an ideal option for families who are needing more space and amenities than a regular hotel can offer. The kitchen facilities are fantastic and a great alternative if you don't feel like eating out each night. Although the laundry was convenient we found the washing machine complicated to use/possibly broken (no user instructions were provided).

It was a 20-30 minute walk into the tourist areas of London which was fine in the sunny weather and provided an opportunity to see more of the city. There is a Tesco supermarket 30 second walk from the hotel and nearby cafes and restaurants. Plenty of bus stops close as well as Liverpool Station.

I would highly recommend this hotel for a well-priced, clean and convenient option!

Booked a 1-room apartment for 3 days but was upgraded to 2-bedroom apartment facing the Liverpool Street station. Very spacious apartment and room with all the required facilities and friendly staff, making sure that you feel at home. It was a 5-min walking distance to the office that I was going, hence a perfect place to stay for those who have offices/meetings nearby. Reasonable pricing. Would definitely stay here again.

First the positives. The friendly reception staff, the location opposite Liverpool st station, supermarkets, shops etc all close by. This does mean the street facing apartments experience a bit of city noise but this is part of central big city living. Not a negative aspect for us. The apartments have been refurbished since we last stayed and there is everything you could want in an apartment for an enjoyable stay.
The negative point for me was the bed was extremely uncomfortable- this can be a personal choice however. I explained the situation to the reception staff and within minutes different options were available to us. It is highly commendable that the staff at 196 handle these situations with such aplomb. I would highly recommend this property

I enjoyed my stay at Bishopsgate. The room was comfortable. I asked for a room away from the street as I read the street side could be noisy and I was accommodated. I was also able to check in early which was great because we arrived early in the morning. Having a kitchen was great as I have to eat first thing every morning while mister likes to sleep a bit. The staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't try the breakfast so I can't comment on that. If you have any mobility issues you might have a problem with the bath as it's a bit higher off the floor than normal. Tube/train station across the street. Grocery store nearby, lots of places to eat, drink and shop nearby. Less than a half hour walk to the Tower of London and other sites in that area.

Room Tip: rooms away from the street are quieter
