Wow!!!

This is a proper 4* hotel at 2* prices!
I was welcomed by very friendly staff, including a refreshing towel and complementary drink.
The room was single and quite small but no different to what you would expect in a city like this.
Not your usual nice reception, rubbish room - the room was decorated beautifully!
It had further complementary toiletries, 2 apples, biscuits and bottled water. Free wifi and also a docking station. I mention there things as hotels so often skimp on such things now.
The breakfast was also nice.
The hotel is also well located, just behind Lancaster Gate in the central line.
This hotel ticks ALL the boxes and thoroughly deserves it's ranking in here.

Spent a weekend here as a couple. While there is nothing terrible about this hotel, and the staff are obviously keen to always be polite, I just felt underwhelmed (mainly based on the positive reviews here on trip advisor).

I think it's best to list the following pros and cons, so you can decide for yourself:

Pros:

Located a less than 10 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate tube stop and Kensington Gardens.
Modern and clean hotel rooms
Comfortable bed and linen
Very friendly and polite staff

Cons:
Very cramped hotel rooms and bathrooms (even by London standards).
Very little storage space, or even places to place your toiletries.
A number of rooms which are in the horrible basement (steep, windy stairs and corridors that smell of food, little or no natural light)
Hard to regulate the heating / AC in the room
Breakfast is OK - nothing extraordinary, but it is complimentary.

I stayed for 3 nights with my wife to celebrate her Birthday. We stayed in room 10 on the ground floor in a "Club" room.

One issue we found was that the room was very small to the extent that we had to shuffle past the bed with the gap to the wall probably around a foot in width and the bathroom was similarly bijou.

This theme continued in the breakfast room which was just too small for the volume of guests. This resulted in guests frequently brushing past whilst we were eating and with breakfast being buffet style it was sometimes neccessary to plan your route back to the table with some precision.

That said we were otherwise thrilled to bits with everything about this hotel. The fittings in the room and bathroom were of exceptional quality and the bed was extremely comfortable. The usual facilities were provide plus some nice extras including bath robes, complimentary newspapers and chocolates/wine etc.

The location of the hotel is great for most purposes and in a quiter area away from any traffic noise.

The food at breakfast was excellent too with a good choice of cooked or continental style food.

We feel that the hotel represents excellent value and it is a real treat to stay there.

It wouldnt be right to close my review without a special mention for the service. Throughout our stay the service offered to us was consistently high.

We would definitely stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending to others

Warm friendly staff who went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our stay was comfortable. My wife had just been in surgery so they offered to assist in any way needed to take care of her while I was out for the day. Fortunately we were fine. She just needed to rest but it was good to know they were there for us.

I recommend this hotel for a short trip to London.
Totally renovated hotel. The staff (reception, concierge and breakfast) is really kind (they put balloons and a little cake in the room because of my mum's birthday). The room size is quite tight but for a short stay it is ok. Very comfortable bathroom with a very good shower. They replace everyday the amenities.
The breakfast lounge is also very tight, there is no space between tables (maybe it could be extended to the sofa area with more high tables, there is another sofa area next to the first one, so I guess it could have dedicated to the breakfast.
Nevertheless the breakfast has a large number of items and the serve toasts on the table.
So, great stay in a great city.

We only stayed one night, but it was a great hotel & the staff were exceptional. From the warm towels & drinks on arrival, to the balloons & birthday cake in the room for our daughters 21st Birthday, the hotel staff thought about their guests and ensured our stay was perfect.

We would certainly use the hotel again. It was in an ideal location near Hyde Park, only a short walk to the tube station, and only a couple of stops for Oxford St for shopping

Stayed over on a Sunday night as a last minute decision - so pleased we found this hotel! All staff were polite, friendly and had a professional manner. Our room was on the small side - but no matter, everything else made up for that. When reception found out we were on a romantic trip, our room had fresh rose petals, chocolates and 'towel swans' on the bed - a surprise and a lovely thoughtful touch! Breakfast was fine. This hotel has standards - I doubt that you could find anywhere as clean and efficient as the Park Grand for the money. Have recommended this hotel to friends and family and we will definitely be back soon.
