At first appearance the ODBH (as its affectionately known at my work) looks like an other historical London pub. Then you go inside and its a bit crowded, a bit smoky and a bit noisy. Venture downstairs to the toilets and they are functional (at best), disgusting more likely. Despite all that, the ODBH is one of my favourite pubs in London. One of the reasons is the staff - busy as it usually is, you get served within a reasonable time and with a smile. They know what they are doing and they get on with it. The selection of beers is fairly good (including Spitfire) and the lunchtime food (if you can get a table) is good value. A definite if you are in the area. The place has lots of hidden charm, the warmth of a busy, loved pub, and no gimmicks. A good honest boozer that I have been frequenting for going on 6 years.
