“Great location and value.”

The location is fantastic - walking distance to Regents Park. Close to buses and only 2 blocks from Bakers street Station, with a variety of restaurant options nearby. The breakfast was extensive. The room I was staying was a bit small and the space was mostly taken up by the bed, though the bed was comfortable, internet connection was fast and uninterrupted during my visit. Amazing conditions and location for the price you pay.

First up, if you choose your hotel based on price versus location, this will sit you perfectly. It's very close to both Baker Street and Marylebone tube stations, and there are all sorts of attractions nearby. For a central London hotel, I was very pleased with the price. However, there are a few downsides, and they can ruin the experience a little.

The rooms are tired, the decor needs redoing (the wallpaper was peeling off, lighting dim and dark). The TV was tiny, the toilet was loud and the shower was a mystery to me; I ended up being showered in boiling water more than once. I would also recommend some new pillows.

However, if you're not looking purely for a place to sleep, then this is perfect for the price. Breakfast was decent, and the location is unbeatable.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the lower floors, as it can be annoying to climb a lot of stairs.

Somerset hotel has a very ideal location in central London. there is a Costa coffee shop a minute away, a Tesco that opens late as well as the bakery and Marylebone station a stone throw away. these location factors work really well for this hotel. I stayed here for three days in March 2015 on a business trip.

I was disappointed that the main door lock is a free for all and anyone can walk in and walk out at will. whilst this may be ok for some but my security and feeling of being safe when staying away from home is important. i suppose that this will be fixed soon but looks like it has been like this for a while from th reviews and doesn't bode well for the attention the mgmt

The reception is wanting and looks worn out. there is debris left over from a previous construction and nobody has cared to clear it. her is also no imagination in the reception which is bare and not manned for the duration i was there

I stayed in a first level room. the carpet leading to the room is worn and running at the door which was also disappointing. the flooring in the room is creaky and if your neighbour is up and about ash you are a light sleeper you are bound not ht have a good night sleep. The bathroom is awfully tiny and whilst it seems recently redone but the work is not complete with open parts and hardly any space for the toilet snuggled in the edge. The room looks repurposed and the curtains have not been done well to block off light

If you need a study table you will not find any but there is a tiny TV the size of a computer screen which i didn't bother switching on.

I did a bed and breakfast rate but was so disappointed the first day as it seems everything that was to go wrong did and breakfast was not set up at 8am which is disappointing.

I also had strange bites on the next day i woke up and i am almost certain these were bug bites!

Overall i did not enjoy my stay and would not be going back to Somerset soon. shame that despite perfect location the management are not serious about running a decent hotel here.

What I like is the proximity to the subway station. There was quite a variety of choices for breakfast. The reception staff were most welcoming and helped to move my bags, gave me all the directions to places to see etc. Stable and strong wifi in the room and lobby. Basic but with everything one needs to rest.

I visited this hotel on a business trip to London eight months ago and was sure that after so many horror stories (reviews) it would have been removed from ALL booking websites. I am only doing this review now as I was contacted by other travellers that have recently stayed there and also had the bed bug (ugh) experience. Being an extremely clean and hygienic person- this was such a traumatic visit. I actually still have scars and so does my daughter!
What a great pity as the hotel has a great location near to Baker street tube station and the glorious Regents Park.
The lesson people .........is to really study the reviews!

I understand that hotels go through renovation - however, for my very recent stay, the front door had no lock, the door from reception to the hallway had been removed (so very noisy in my room), and when I arrived back at the hotel at 11pm, there was no hot water. My room was also very cold - the radiator was marginally above stone cold. The bathroom light was broken. The coffee machine at breakfast was not hooked up, so not even a coffee in the morning to warm me up. It's a real shame as this hotel is close to work, close to the tube and if my experience had been even just a little more pleasant, I would be booking here more often. I don't mind a slightly shabby room if it's safe, warm and convenient. But for single (female) travelers, security is so incredibly important. As is a bit of heat in during a winter night!

We flew into Heathrow and took the express shuttle train into London. The hotel was a short block and a half walk from the subway station...The room was a bit small but the place was immaculate, the bed was comfy. I stayed for three nights, getting around town easily due to the close proximity to the tube or being able to walk easily to the most notable structures in London. No frills Hotel, great plumbing, bathroom in the room. Strong wifi.
