“Great location and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

My husband booked this due to price and location.

We arrived after a cancelled flight, diversion to Heathrow and bus to London City. So we were tired on arrival but found the hotel easy enough from DLR station. It's a 10 minute walk into Stratford and the main station.

Check in was quick and efficient and although the reception area is sparse you realise that the hotel is extremely clean and appears very new.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Breakfast was included and plenty of choice - the pancakes were a hit with guests old and young! When I asked the waitress what time breakfast was on the Sunday due to my husband running the Marathon she said that if he needed to leave earlier they start preparation at 6am and they would ensure he had something to eat! As it was they started at 7am so plenty of time.

The bedroom was comfortable and extremely quiet with tea & coffee in the room.

We checked out on the Sunday morning and they stored our bags. When we came back the staff opened up an area for my husband to get a wash and change before our flight home.

I would have no hesitation in staying there again as getting in an out of London was extremely easy and for the price we paid such a bargain.

In Stratford High Street. Beautifully clean, friendly staff, good value food. 10 minutes walk from Stratford station (Westfield) and 5 minutes from DLR. Ideally situated for Olympic Park and Westfield shopping centre. Had to pay for the Wi-Fi.

Room Tip: Noisy on the front road, but this is London!

Stayed here for a day for work reasons. Found the staff to be extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was fine and the breakfast was good. I would say this is one of the better Travelodge’s i have stayed in. Doesn’t have parking Westfield’s is round the corner (10 min walk) and parking there is £6.00 for 24hrs which for London is pretty damn cheap.

Stayed in hotel for weekend/shopping trip to nearby Westfiled Town Centre. Arrived at 2.15 pm and asked if we could check in. The receptionist said we could check-in but an early check-in fee of £10 would apply - how outrageous was that!! I am very well aware that early check-in is always subject to availability in hotels - however in Travelodge despite having the availability and despite it being only 45 minutes away from the normal check-in they still insist on charging a £10 check-in fee. Needless to say we didn't pay it as we were paying a premium for the room that night anyway!! The reception area is clean but extremely basis - not friendly or warm/inviting in any shape or form and the same could be said about the staff - clean but extremely basis!! Room was tiny for a double room - bed clean and very comfy - no guest toiletries etc - there was kettle/tea/coffee provided - however no glassess provided - only plastic cups. No wardrobe or storage - only rack with coat hangers. No shower door on shower - only curtain - no bath mat provided so shower/excess water all on bathroom floor so when you stepped out of the shower you basically stepped into a puddle!! Wifi - free for half an hour then you pay a fee for anything more. Internet machine provided in Cafe at a charge of £1 for 20 minutes but the connection was so slow that your 20 was up before you had barely logged in and checked a couple of emails!! Any staff we met - i.e in the cafe, at reception, an accommodation assistant etc were all just going through the motions of their job - no interaction with guests at all unless approached. No staff to be see whatsoever when we went to check out and that was just typical of the stay - clinical and cold - I didn't book into a five star hotel so I wasn't expecting 5 star standard but is it too much to ask for a staff member to smile or say hello. The location of the hotel was convenient and the room was clean/bed comfy - however the sheer basics of the room, the fact that it was tiny as was the bathroom, the lack of amenities such as hairdryer, the unfriendliness of staff, and most of all ripping people off for £10 when room is ready and available are just a few of the reasons I won't be going back. Check out the Premier Inn or Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Express - all much better located that Travelodge offer more facilities and amenities for the same price or cheaper.

It's a travelodge. What more can I say really?

Clean and pleasant room etc etc

Not bad at £60 for the night. A cab ride from Stratford/Westfield but that's ok

Friendly (and cute) pink haired receptionist whom I should have tried to charm. Ah well, another time perhaps ;-)

This is by far the best Travelodge I have stayed in. It helps that it is newly refurbished but it is also kept very clean. The staff make the real difference to your stay - they are welcoming, helpful and happy. The breakfast was well prepared and run (could teach a few other hotels how to do it), cooked food was quickly replenished, tables cleared, plates replaced by a staff who are efficient and unobtrusive. We had a room at the back on the 9th floor and the view was stunning. It is very quiet back there and we even slept with the window opened (as country bumpkins we are unuse to much traffic noise but it was quiet enough to sleep through). There was only a shower but it was s spacious cubicle and powerful. The bed was very comfortable. This was booked to provide a place to sleep when not out in London but it made the weekend break feel more relaxing and even added to the overall experience. Will certainly be staying there again. Other Travelodges need to take note of the difference a skilled and well managed staff can make!

Room Tip: A high floor with a room at the back.

We stayed here when attending a convention at the excel and the hotel was wonderful! Having stayed at another travelodge and not enjoyed it I myself was dreading going however, the hotel was clean all the staff were friendly and the rooms were very comfortable. Our bed was so comfy I nearly slept in! We stayed in the bar at night however this was very pricey! But all in all a great nights sleep.
