“Great Hotel, Price and Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Luna Simone is very close to downtown London but far enough away that it isn't overwhelming. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is great. The rooms are small but I think that is true of anything at this price point. They are very clean and the bathrooms are nice. We went with friends and both had rooms on the front with windows looking over the main road which was nice to see the activity of the town. I'm not sure what kind of view you would have in the back rooms of the hotel. Overall, very nice hotel experience that didn't break the bank close to downtown London.

My husband and I spent the weekend in London and were very pleased with our hotel. The location was excellent..less than a 10 minute walk from Victoria Station. Was on a reasonably quiet and clean street for a city. Several restaurants, including international ones, very closeby.

The room was tiny.. what hotel room in London isn't?.but was spacious enough for 2 of us. Had nice hooks on the wall for our coats and enough drawer space in the desk to store toiletries. The closet was large enough to stash our carry on. The room was very clean.

The breakfast was good. They have a very nice set menu but were not adverse to making some modifications.

I was concerned about the 10am checkout being too early but they stored our bags for us so we were able to do some additional sightseeing and wandering around the city without taking our things along before we were ready to return home.

Staff was curteous. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: We did have road noise on the Belgrave Road side of the building but it wasn't too bad.

The hotel was a very welcome oasis of calm on our hectic trip to London. Brilliant location just a short walk from Victoria station. The staff were friendly and helpful, very welcoming to the kids and they gave us a great restaurant recommendation nearby. The room was everything we needed, well presented and spotlessly clean, with a fantastic shower. Pimlico is a lovely neighbourhood and it felt slightly off the beaten track. Breakfast was served very efficiently by very friendly hosts and they had a highchair for the youngest. They made a fuss of the kids and there was lots of choice. Overall it was well priced compared with the alternatives and offered good value for money. Great location, clean and well organised, we were immediately at ease ensuring we were restored and ready for another long day in the big city. Also one of the few places we found that could accommodate our family of 5 in one room (3 fairly young children). It would be our first choice next time we go to London.

Really friendly staff and very close to Victoria. My partner and I stayed here to go to a gig and we didn't really spend a lot of time in the room but our time there was lovely. Great if you're on a budget but checking out before 10am when you have a bit of a hangover was a struggle!

This hotel is central to ALL the major must-see London sites! many are within walking distance. The major underground station is a short 15 minute walk. Surprisingly great value..... breakfast was ordered from the menu and included in the room price...we even overslept and were a bit past the set time but we were accommodated anyway by the wonderful (family) staff. Can not find any fault with this hotel unless you require elevator to upper floors...we needed the upstairs climb after several hours sitting on the way to London.
HIGHLY recommend this small boutique hotel..Rick Steeves comes thru again!

This hotel is family owned, run right, customer focused, and in a great location near Victoria Station. Walking directions below. I was in Room #8 with a balcony (room literally above the entrabce sign). Very quaint and probably nice in the summer, but note that the road is very busy so you will get some street noise. There are rooms on the backside that should not have the road noise. Note breakfast hours are a bit early- 7:00 - 8:30, but they say the tourists want to eat and get going.

Bus #24 will be your friend, stops right in front of the hotel. Load up an Oyster card and ride. It goes by Victoria, Westminster Abbey, then on to Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square. No need to fool with the Underground to go into to Central London- Bus 24 is the way to go. So much more calm and scenic.

My cash single rate of £75.00 was very reasonable for this very pleasant hotel.

Hotel walking directions from Victoria Station: Take the Wilton Road exit, turn right, follow the road till it becomes Denbigh Street and then turn left on the next intersection, which will be Belgrave Road.

Swainsbury Market on the way from Victoria has staples and good cold and cooked foods to grab. Two decent pubs near the hotel- Marquis on same street at hotel, and Cask (excellent beers). For Cask- left out of hotel door, first left, a couple of blocks head on your right.

Room Tip: Request a room on the back side if traffic noise from street facing hotel (Belgrave) will interfere...

I read the reviews here and in the Rick Steves' guidebook: booking a stay at the Luna-Simone Hotel was probably the best decision of my whole London trip. This neat and tidy hotel is tucked away on Belgrave Road in the Pimlico section of London. It's just a short 5 minute walk to the Pimlico tube station where you can catch the Victoria line. It's also an easy walk to the Victoria tube station, too. Check in was fast and easy. The rooms are impeccably clean. The shower was amazing--probably the best at any hotel I've stayed at in the past few years. The front desk staff are friendly and always able to provide advice and recommendations. The English breakfast is included in the hotel price. The cheery kitchen staff are a great start to the day. We had a twin bed room that faced Belgrave Rd., but we didn't notice much noise. All rooms have an en suite bathroom. Do keep in mind that rooms are small by American standards and there's no elevator (or "lift" as the British would say), but it all adds to the cozy and familial feel of the hotel. If you're looking for an economical, yet clean and cheery hotel, make Luna-Simone your "home" base for London.
