I visited the London docklands travel lodge on 30th April for 2 nights and I was very impressed. The rooms are lovely and the beds are very comfy,I had an amazing nights sleep which is unusual for me on my first night away. The restaurant was very nice and the food was superb. The two lads on the Thursday night were very polite, respectful and a credit to the travel lodge(I didn't know there names as they didn't have a name badge however Salma did and she was brilliant as well.I would definitely stay here again as it was great.Im moving to London Wembley High Road travel lodge for Saturday night as it had rooms and was a lot cheaper than here.I will review the next hotel and look forward to comparing the two travel lodges. Thanks for a great stay.

Mr Millard.

Room Tip: All rooms seem good as the surrounding area is very quiet.

This Travelodge looks like it had recently been refurbished. A faint smell of paint was still lingering in the room (although having recently decorated in my house I know that smell can linger for a while).

Rooms were pretty much in line with what you expect from a Travelodge and the service and welcome were genuinely warm. Great location next to the A13 and also only 5 minutes’ walk from the East India DLR stop. 10 minutes from there on the DLR and you are at the Tower of London!

Great place for a short break and would consider staying there again – much cheaper than similar hotels in Central London.

When we visited in early April, the finishing touches were being made to the refurbishment, so a few minor issues. However, we were aware of this at the time of booking. Very handy for the DLR - a short walk to East India (we travelled to/from the hotel by rail). Not much locally in the way of shops/restaurants, etc. Rooms were comfortable and the buffet breakfast was worth the money paid. Reception staff were helpful and polite. We stayed for 2 nights and, once checked out, were able to leave our luggage at the hotel (free) while we did some sight seeing, and return late afternoon to collect it.

Room Tip: Hotel has several floors with lifts and stairs. One side faces a busy road, but noise levels were m...

This hotel was perfect for our stay as we were travelling into the city to watch my husband run the marathon. The hotel had everything you needed and any extra things you needed the reception staff were more then happy to help especially Corina. The waiters were brilliant at there job, the only thing that ruined our stay was Ivo the barman. His attitude was disgraceful, he was arrogant and rude and really looked like he hated his job and hated people so think the hotel needs to reevaluate his position by putting him back office so he doesn't have to deal with anyone.

I had recently had an operation and the two ladies on reception were most helpful and friendly. They really made a difference to my one night stay with their advice and physical help. The hotel is most convenient for London City Airport and its station, from which it is an easy walk. Or there is a taxi rank outside the airport which can ferry you back and forth. The accommodation and food is adequate for the price.

Room Tip: rooms in the front are quieter

A good Travelodge overall, great staff and good rooms, very clean and neat. Had dinner & breakfast in the hotel, food was decent enough for the price. Good location with a good amount of parking, only £5 for 24 hrs. I'd definitely stay here again.

This hotel is ideal if you're going to the O2, easy to get to the DLR to get to the O2 arena itself or back into central London for some sightseeing. East India is the best station to find the hotel from, just take the bridge over the main road and keep walking in a straight line and you'll find the hotel just to your right. As for the hotel itself, its a Travelodge, nothing exciting, just what you need for an overnight stay. The hotel and room was very clean and well maintained, the cooked breakfast wasn't the best I've had but certainly filling. The self-check in machines weren't working when we arrived so had to use the front desk, not a problem, although the woman on the desk didn't seem overly friendly or enthused to be there, in fact barely said more than "hello" to us, not even telling us our room number when giving us our card key or giving us directions to it. She did ask if we wanted two card keys at least, but she just didn't seem very talkative, not rude but certainly not someone you would expect to be manning a hotel's front desk.

All in all a perfectly acceptable hotel to use as an overnight base but nothing to shout about.
