Description: The original and still the best! As popular now as the day it opened, Wahaca Covent Garden collides the heat of the Mexican market with all the coolness of London's trendy West End, in an explosion of colour, texture and noise. Enjoy the funky music and lively surroundings in our bar while you wait to be seated.

A vibrant restaurant with friendly, helpful staff who know what is in the dishes so can guide you if needed. The food is first class and a filling one course meal for two with a half litre of wine cost just £28. Great!

“great mexican food & not expensive !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

Its quite a popular place to eat it seems from the crowds coming in. We tried the one at Covent Garden. well you can't book for this place. upon arrival we had to wait but not for long. it is underground, but so nicely designed and well lit that you would feel its a lively summer day even at night. the waiters are friendly and helpful. food variety and prices are nice. there is something for everyone. portions are just right. there are different options from nibblers to ordering 2-3 'street eats' (I would recommend the herring tacquito as one), to main platters. and you will be able to have dessert even almost full because portions are not that huge; just right actually. They are all great!

“Fast, efficient, warm, tasty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

We turned up at 1710 on a Saturday afternoon and found it was really busy even at that time. We waited around 30 minutes for a table and had a cocktail and some tortilla and guacamole nibbles in the mean time, which were reasonable and a great appetiser. The service was friendly and efficient throughout and we weren't rushed at any point. Would highly recommend the hot chocolate chilli tequila shot! Would definitely go again!

“Still a great place to eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

We have eaten here several times over the past few years. Each time has been great, always able to get a lunch table at lunchtime. Food is fresh, delicious and very good value, especially the shared meal for £19.ish, which was loads of delicious little platefuls and plenty for two. Together with two desserts, two espressos and two soft drinks, our bill came to £39. And the service was excellent. Will be back!

“Lively, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

This is not my usual sort of place. We had to wait about 30 minutes to be served in a heaving bar with loud music, I was planning my escape when we were called to our table. Here things were much calmer (although not a place for a romantic meal for two). The food was very different to the normal run-of-the-mill Mexican, and all the ingredients were really, really fresh. The vegetarian options were good.

I was so impressed I bought the recipe book.
