“Not a Premier League bed, but the rest Championsip standard!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013 via mobile

Well, the positives are friendly staff, good breakfast and reasonably quiet, oh and I could park in Vice Chairmans car space! Tube station is about 800 metres away straight down Green Street.

We stayed here so could get direct access to Central London to see a show at beginning of October.

Unfortunately, the bed we got was non league standard. Wheel missing on base, mattress with noises and a broken spring that twanged the ribs each and every time you moved! This was most disappointing, as travelled from Oman to see my family and thought this would be top notch, at a good price?! Sullivan and Gold need to do a bit of work on the beds! Sorry!

We chose this hotel firstly for the unique experience of waking up with a view over a football field (which was indeed amazing) and secondly for its fair quality/price report. We arrived at around 12 am, the staff was helpful and didn't take much of our time.
The location of the hotel is good, it takes about 5 minutes to get to the nearest subway station and another 30 minutes to get to the city center.
The room was large and clean, with a large comfortable bed.
Another reason for choosing this hotel was that we had our own private bathroom in the room, which is unlikely for most hotels in London (at the same price)....
We only used the room for sleeping, we didn't have any meal in the hotel, so our experience was a really positive one with this hotel.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in the West ham hotel for my sons 21st birthday, there were 8 of us. This was a surprise for our son Michael who is an avid WHU Fan, he was completely blown away, as previous guests have said all rooms overlook the pitch. I am not a football fan but this experience was very good. As an added bonus West ham were playing Man City the next day and my husband and son went to the match.
All the staff we encountered were so friendly and very helpful, especially the receptionist Simone, she arranged for us to have a private tour with Michael (senior) I called him this as our son is also called Michael! Well what can I say the tour was amazing, Mike’s knowledge is second to none, Michael senior also arranged for our son to meet some players, and he even got him some signatures. The guy on reception (sorry can’t remember his name) on Sunday gave Michael one of the footballs that was used during the game on Saturday 19th October against Manchester City!! He was thrilled.
Breakfast was really good and plenty of it too, Cuthbert and Helena really looked after us.
The Rooms were clean and our room was very spacious, the view really is amazing.
We Would definitely recommend this hotel even if you are in not a WHU fan it’s still worth a visit as it is so unique.
The area is not that great but then we knew that, it is very near the station so good if you are visiting London or Westfield of which we did both,.

This was my second visit to the home of my team West Ham .... The first time was great... service was fantastic... food OK... but it was the service that was outstanding...

This time ... no. We asked the receptionist for a plaster... this was too much trouble and she refused on the grounds of health and safety... Previously we were able to open the patio door for some fresh air... as we had a young baby with us... this was refused and I was given a lecture by one receptionist of what could happen if thieves got in through the window... basically it was an excuse not to open the patio doors.

We booked a cot for our baby of 3 months.. this was not in the room ... we were given an unsafe z bed for a 3 month year old baby... not good. The cot finally arrived on the last night of our stay.

Food in the restaurant poor value... and poor quality... Considering we ate at Jamie Olivers Italian for the same sort of prices...

Such a shame... as the potential is fantastic... with all the West Ham fans out there...

We stayed on the night of an England match expecting some atmosphere ... Nothing it was on quietly in the corner...

Room Tip: Ask for the patio doors to be opened... Rooms very stuffy...

Stayed here for two nights In September and was disappointed. Been here before and service was always grand. However on check in this time we were asked if we had stayed before. When we said we had that was the end of the conversation. Weren't told when breakfast was, checkout etc. it was a year since our last visit and the old memory not to great so would have helped to have been reminded. The rooms were grand as usual. Clean and well presented. Over the next two days we were consistently ignored by reception staff. Never lifted their head to even greet you on coming into or leaving the hotel. In fact one day the girl manning the desk had her headphones in!!! Breakfast staff were grand although you could have stood your spoon up in the tea every morning. Way too strong. All in all an ok trip but definitely staff were not as welcoming as previous trips which was off putting

Very surprised about how good this was! The executive boxes are used as rooms when no matches on, great idea. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, location is east end of London so don't expect the area to be really good. Would use this place again in fact booked back there very soon for work.

When looking on a booking site for a last minute hotel for a business trip, this came up and I thought, not as a West Ham fan but a football fan I would give it a go. It is a strange feeling, walking to your room with the names of the sponsors outside the room but once in the room it is a normal hotel room with all the expected items. Opening the blinds and 'wow' what a view. It was a Sunday night and the hotel was very quiet, the bar had only one other person in and I ordered a burger and chips which was ok, standard pub fayre. The breakfast was similarly quiet but a lovely lady waitress who had a great personality and made me laugh. The food was typical fried breakfast with cereals - it would have been nice if there had been a selection of yoghurts and also some morning papers to read. The hotel is situated in a shopping street and about 5 mins walk away from Upton Park tube. All in all, a great experience and would recommend any footballs fans who want to try a reasonably priced hotel to give it a try!
