We wanted somewhere to eat before a concert at Brixton Academy and having read some very good reviews decided to give Honest a try. We got there just before opening at 6 and there was already quite a queue and by the time we got to the front there were no more tables. The staff took our mobile number and called us back as soon as they had one free (about 30 minutes later).
We both opted for the Honest Burger. It was as good as the reviews promised. Lovely juicy beef cooked slightly pink, crispy bacon and proper cheddar (no Kraft slices here) served in fresh glazed and toasted bun (why do so many places not toast buns?). If the burger was good, then the chips were better. Lovely and crunchy with just the right amount of rosemary salt (I'm going to try to make some of this at home as it really raised the chips to another level).
Great value given what can you pay for a very ordinary burger and chips at some pubs!
By the time we left many people had been turned away or told there was an hour and a half wait but there was no attempt by the staff to rush us through our meal to cash in on their popularity.
