“Intimate surrounding, tasty food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

I've been here a few times and the food has always been freshly made and tasted decent, especially the tarka dahl (my favourite!). It's popular with people and there are new exhibitions for upcoming artists which is great to see. It's a pleasant place in the afternoon or evening.

“Chaat is excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We regularly go to Chaat as the food and service are of a consistently high standard. My wife would like to see the chicken Jalfrazei back on the menu but that is the only fault. Great staff, great food - highly reccomended.

“Stylish, cosy and tasty Bangladeshi spot in Shoreditch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

On uber-hip Redchurch St, Chaat is a great spot for a meal in Shoreditch. It's good value, with great, unfussy service and with only 18 seats and art for sale on the walls, it has an intimate and stylish feel.

Our group of four started with crisp and delicate vegetable samosas, flavoursome paneer tikka wraps and tasty whitebait, with excellent mains of minced lamb and pea keema, chicken jalfrezi, grilled aubhergine and a mixed vegetable curry. All this accompanied with rich paratha bread, tarkha dahl and some calming raita and fiery Bangladeshi spice.

The damage was around 25 pounds a head, but only because we each had 2 or 3 drinks throughout the evening. And if you feel like carrying into the night there are plenty of bars and nightspots on Redchurch St itself and pretty much in every direction.
