Let me just start by first saying that my stay at the Pearl Hotel was fabulous and I can't wait until my next visit. My mother and I had been backing packing through Europe and decided to take a spontaneous trip to London. After arriving rather late and having no clue where we would be staying for the night, I finally managed to find us an internet cafe. If you know London you know that it's one of the most expensive cities to live in or visit. So its hard to find a good deal on a hotel, yet as I sat there trying to find somewhere decent to stay that was within our budget, I found the Peal Hotel, or shall I say that the Pearl Hotel found us! Just quick trip by cab through exciting London and were there. It was perfect! A cozy yet chic hotel found in one of London's iconic architecturally design row-house style buildings. The hotel is run by a family, and once we arrived greeted us in a very welcoming and hospitable manner. As we had lost our credit cards awhile back on our trip they were very accommodating by letting my father fax us his credit card information so that we could stay there as we had very little cash on us left. That was a lifesaver of a favor. Our room was the perfect definition of a European style hotel room with a pleasant view of the row-houses that make London so unique. I don't know about how other people like to travel but I love visiting a place and leaving with a sense of what its like to live in that city from a locals point of view as well as from the typical tourists point of view, a well rounded adventure. And thats exactly what the Pearl Hotel provided us with. You were able to look at our window and instead of looking at the Tower of London or something of the sort to remind you just how much you blew to have that view and that you are a tourist in London, you over looked the life of the people of London that call it home. The staff gave us great suggestions for local pubs and places to check out with the outer neighborhood of London. They were always generous in providing with desired information of what we should see in London and what was the best way to get there. And one of the best parts about this hotel in my opinion was that you walk right down the street to the Tube station, catch the train, and be within the heart of the city in just a short amount of time and after a long and tiresome day of sightseeing you could settle into your quiet and comfortable London-style pied-a-terre. I will say that you do have to share a bathroom with neighboring rooms to all you Americans out there, but it's not a problem at all. Clean bathrooms and always free when you want to use them. Because if you at all know how the way Europe works, you'll know its hard to ever find your own bathroom for your room. Also, the breakfast served every morning is delicious and in a welcoming breakfast room. And since hopefully your all looking to travel to London to get a taste to the British way of life, the breakfast is the perfect representation of what a English breakfast really is. A little bit of everything delicious. Lastly, I'd just like to say that there were no two people on our entire backpacking journey that we found more kind and friendly then the owner and his son. They stayed up to all hours of the night chatting with us about all and everything and I left being able to say that on my trip I met some wonderful and made some friends to last a lifetime. Don't miss out on what could be a fabulous experience for you at the Pearl Hotel. I can't think of anything bad to say about my stay at this hotel, it was absolutely wonderful and I'm dying to go back!
