“Do not go there”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

These apartments are awful. The apartments are a difficult 1/2 hour walk from reception. We were on the top floor, there was no lift and as we are retired, walking up 7 flights of narrow stairs with luggage was not acceptable. The apartment was basic, yet described as fully equipped. No easy chairs with minimum crockery and cutlery. The shower drained badly and only worked intermittently. The youths in the apartment next door spent all Saturday night slamming doors, running up and down stairs and arguing with each other. Sleep was impossible.

I read some reviews before we went there so I wasn't expecting anything terrific, so it was just as I expected, it was good for a two night stay, we just slept there. The shower was just a tub with a shower head which we had to hold up when we were washing hehe, but that's alright. The hotel where we checked in gave us a complimentary ride when we came and they kept the bags for us when we checked out because our flight didn't go until the evening. But you don't have to go there again when you check out, you just leave the key on the table inside the apartment :) So all in all it was good for the price and we were happy about our stay. I would stay there again, for this price ;)

Good for what was needed. Which was somewhere to stay after watching a show. Good location, comfy bed. Only let down was pretty poor drainage in shower which meant showering for longer than 2 minutes meant the tray filled with water very quickly and would overflow. Shoddy finish in some parts of room too.

Very disappointed. At best a 'good' 3* only. Reception at different location, not convenient. Lift not working, no 'out of order' sign posted. We were up 5 flights of stairs! Not really an 'apartment' more a room with kitchen/table/bed and stained futon squeezed in. Stained floor. Too hot, no way to turn down heating. Shower room smelly and tiny. No plug in sink! (bathroom shoddy) Poor quality/thin towels.
Very, very noisy...if you want to leave windows open (unbelievable in Feb due to room being too hot/over heated!), traffic noise etc. Noise from room above was awful, shouting on phones/ visitors in middle of night/moving furniture?/stamping! (From 11pm through night!) Fridge made awful din on and off all night. The final 'treat' was the cigarette smoke that wafted through the room at times!!? People smoking in hallways? Or in rooms below? Awful. (meant to be non smoking!)
Windows do not have safety latches so may be unsafe as open fully, young children could climb out/fall. Kitchen seen better days, chipped worktop and coming away from wall! Had not been recently installed like advert claims. 5 years ago at least...unless very poor workmanship. Wifi intermittent, weak signal.
Good points? Nothing. (except cheaper than a 4* hotel.)

Room Tip: Do not go here unless it is refurbished and soundproofed.

Not as the pictures suggest. Not comfy or cosy. And definitely doesn't seem like a 4*. Bit like my student bedroom of 30 yrs ago! A bit bleak. No lamps, TV leads dodgy.bathroom tiny. But staff v helpful and genuine. Shifted to another room- no nicer but tv worked. Pain that check in is a bus ride away. It's cheap, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Myself and 2 friends stayed in a studio apartment for a night in Paddington. To be honest, when we turned up I was pretty disappointed - I hadn't realised that you actually have to check in a mile down the road, which is really annoying. Essentially, Hyde Park Suites have a number of apartments dotted around the area and the office in Inverness Rd (where you check in) is the 'head office'. So if you go straight to your apartment (like we did) you can't get in as there is no one there. I was nervous when I arrived at check in as it looked really shabby! I was then told that there were only 2 apartments owned by Hyde Park Suites in Paddington, so really wasn't sure what to expect. However, we were delighted when we got to our room. It was larger that I thought with a kitchenette, double bed, huge sofa bed and dinner table. The bathroom was modern and clean. The whole apartment was clean, tidy and modern and really well priced for what you get. I'd definitely go back. It's in a great location . The only downside is the check in process.

Room Tip: Make sure you head to the right place for check in - otherwise you can't get in the building and...

Myself and a group of friends stayed in 2 studio apartments over the last weekend. I had been fretting about the stay due to the negative comments I had read beforehand, but I needn't of worried...

The staff I had spoken to in advance were extremely helpful, giving us advice about parking and the location of the reception area. We telephoned early on the Saturday to see if we were able to have access to the rooms early, and were told that it shouldn't be a problem and to come and get the keys as soon as we were ready. Once the check in was complete, we were given a complementary taxi to the apartments in Paddington.

The apartments are located in a lovely area around the corner from Paddington Station. We were given an apartment with a balcony overlooking the courtyard (very handy for the smokers of the party). My friends were able to easily find their way to the building and park outside for a small fee (free on a Sunday, depending on what side of the road you park on!!!) The apartments are compact and well designed - for the price I paid, I really couldn't complain about anything!

We had a wonderful weekend together in London in great apartments that didn't break the bank. Any complaints from previous reviewers re: noise....what an earth we you expecting?! You stayed in Central London in budget apartments!

Room Tip: Request a room with a balcony if possible. Make sure you read the find print about the reception loc...
