“Good for shopping but some disappointments”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2011 via mobile

great location for westfields shopping . Nice new clean. Hotel by the olympic stadium. Some minus points though:
Everywhere in the hotel is hot. In the room you need the air conditioning on all night which is noisy. Worst thing is staying on the olympic village side you get woken at 05:07 each morning when the first high speed train of the day roars past.

Beds are pretty hard too. The third bed in the room is actually more comfortable than the main double!

Twenty minutes to check in because the checkin machines were not working. Staff were apologetic though.

breakfast queue was twenty minutes yesterday just to get seated then it was a scrum for the food like something from butlins. too few staff and the buffet area too small given the number of guests. Those staff present seemed tired already, I feel sorry for them.

We're writing this review whilst still staying in the Premier Inn, Westfield. As others before us have stated, it is a lovely hotel with the usual Premier Inn refinements, the room is comfortable and clean and we are fortunate to occupy a 10th floor room overlooking the international station.
Our only issue is the restaurant. Breakfast has been a shambles with long queues to get seated and even longer queues to wait for food. Staff are overwhelmed and unable to cope. Evening dinner has taken over two hours from start to finish with staff apologising for the delay whilst freely admitting to being short-numbered. And whilst the restaurant struggles, there are three staff members on reception and two behind the bar! Staffing priorities need to be addressed - although the hotel is busy this is nothing compared to what it will be like during the olympics! This has spoiled an otherwise lovely stay.

I stayed here with my partner for 3 nights, it is located right next to the big shopping centre and tube station which is very handy. Room was a standard premier inn hotel, which is always great to stay in. Room clean, and great view from the 5th floor that we stayed in.
Only thing to say is that twice we had housekeeping enter the room when we were there, and one time was half 8 in the morning, which woke me up!

This is a good value hotel which has recently opened in late summer 2011. I have stayed there on 3 occasions and have always been impressed by the friendly service and obvious cleanliness with it being new.

The rooms are standard Premier Inn fair and none the worse for that. Everything is new and fresh with comfortable beds and functional bathrooms. The flat screen televisions have access to all UK Freeview channels and many radio stations. You could never describe the hotel as luxurious but it is comfortable enough and I would make special mention of the staff who are very friendly and helpful.

You may want to try for a high room (floors 7-10) on the south side of the building to benefit from some very good views over London. There is some construction work for the Olympic site (next door) and so there is a little noise but I didn’t find it too intrusive.

The hotel did have one or two teething troubles as might be expected. The self check-in facility now works fine it would seem. However, when my air conditioning did not work for example, I was immediately offered a full refund for that night’s accommodation as the hotel was full. Excellent customer service indeed.

As has been mentioned, it takes a little finding if you’re coming by underground. Basically, get off the underground at Stratford and head for the Westfield Shopping centre. It’s about a 10 minute walk through the shopping centre at a leisurely pace or with luggage. You need to walk right through the ground floor of the shopping centre to get to the hotel. You’ll pass Marks & Spencer on your left and keep walking past the food court on your left until you see Waitrose (handy for essential supplies). Then head out of the shopping centre doors and you’ll see the hotel. The West End is around 25 minutes away on the Central Line. Stratford International Rail Station is much closer to the hotel and a train from there gets you to Kings Cross/St Pancras in less than 10 minutes.

There is a restaurant and bar one in the hotel which offers UK pub-style food for less than £10. A walk into the adjacent Westfield Centre (open until 9pm on weekdays) offers a food court on the ground floor with a range of fast food restaurants such as KFC, McDonalds, Subway, Chinese, Caribbean etc. Venture upstairs in the Centre and there’s an even bigger choice of restaurants with everything from the usual chain restaurants to Thai and Japanese cuisine. The Shopping Centre itself has a fantastic range of designer and chain stores.

All in all then, a good choice balancing value for money and comfort if you don’t mind being a little out of town or are visiting either the Olympic Stadium or Westfield Shopping Centre. I fully recommend it on that basis.

Room Tip: You may want to try for a high room (floors 7-10) on the south side of the building to benefit from...

I stayed at the premier inn in Stratford for 2 nights whilst on business at the Olympic Park. It is right next to Stratford International station so I caught the train from St Pancras direct to there after I arrived at Kings Cross. This saved messing about with the tube and all my luggage.

The hotel was the normal premier inn identical style, it was quite a small room and I was disappointed that you couldn't open the window to allow air in. There is a heating and cooling system in the room though.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the duty manager, the people manning the check in desks and the greeter at breakfast.

On my second night from 9pm until at least 1030pm there was a loud hammering noise. I phoned reception to ask how long it was going to go on for. They weren't sure where the noise would be coming from as they had no work taking place and hadn't been advised of any night time works nearby. The duty manager offered for me to change rooms or to use the good night guarantee and claim a refund. I did neither, as it seemed to be beyond the control of the hotel and I was so tired that I had fallen asleep by 10.30, so if the hammering was still going on, I was oblivious to it.

Breakfast was good, in a buffet form, but regularly refreshed. I didn't eat an evening meal in the hotel, instead I explored the adjacent Westfield shopping centre and surrounding restaurants.

The best hotel I have stayed in in Stratford when visiting the Olympics site.

Room Tip: You will get a better view on the higher floors, and possibly less noise from the activities outside...

Stayed here last weekend with our 2-year-old. Wouldn't ordinarily comment on a Premier Inn as they are pretty much the same, but staff deserve a mention for their friendliness and attention to detail. Even had child-size cutlery...first time I have ever seen this in any restaurant/hotel.

We had a room on the 10th floor so amazing views of the area. Small room but all clean and functional. Have never stayed in a Premier Inn and been cold but why they have winter thickness duvets on the beds when the rooms are so well insulated and the whole building is warm makes me wonder...

All in all, a great location as only 6 minutes from St Pancras on the Southeastern high speed trains, but far enough away from Central London to make things feel a little more relaxed.

hotel was lovely, right above shopping centre, staff were extremely nice and helpful, would definately recommend it. it was a bit difficult to find but is very near to bus station and to tube station. The room was very comfortable and the bed was one of the softest i've slept in. everything was clean, room was cleaned everyday. the bar and restaurant were lovely, bar staff very pleasant. the breakfast was an all you can eat buffett which for £7.99 was brilliant value and well worth it.
