“Nice friendly hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014 via mobile

When visiting London I look for two things; a clean comfortable room and a good breakfast (you don't go to London to sit in the hotel)
This place offered both in abundance. The staff were helpful and friendly and the room had everything we required.
2-3 minutes walk from one underground station and about 7-10 minutes from another. It took about 15 minutes at a relaxed pace to arrive at Oxford Street.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

From reception to waitress and domestic staff- all excellent staff here and a credit to the hotel. Stayed in a standard room, this was functional and clean with very comfy bed but it's quite small with a small bath in a small bathroom. Reasonably quiet hotel as not located on any main roads. Restaurant is ok, it's typical hotel Fayre but the decor is rather bland and uninspiring. Quite pricy though the dinner B and B deal is good , though set menus is very limited.
The hotel is 20 minutes walk from Kings Cross and a 15 minute walk to regents street/ Oxford Street, London Palladium , Liberty Store etc.
Breakfast was very good, again with great staff though breakfasts outside are readily available and cheaper.
I was disappointed with the immediate area for walking around in the evening, pubs were crowded and noisy and whist not threatening , the area did feel a bit down market.
So in summary, it's the staff that make the hotel a four out of five.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room and ask for no connecting doors.

Dear cagedavid,

Thank you for your review on our hotel.
As customer care is our primary objective, we are always so delighted to hear that our hotel team are delivering excellent service, so thank you.
We are glad you enjoyed our location as well and found it quiet, we are very centrally located so there are many busy pubs and restaurants in the area as you mentioned.
We hope to welcome you back in the future, don't be a stranger :)

Kind Regards,
Miriam.

Paid £159 in advance for a double room on a Saturday night including full buffet breakfasts the following morning. Walk-in rate is £300!!!!!!
Hotel modern and clean, staff all polite at all times. Breakfast buffet excellent.
Just remember to book in advance. Basement car park £36.10p for 24 hours - great value in London as no congestion charge at the weekend.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

We stayed at Holiday Inn Regents Park for two nights mid week, as many of the reviews state the hotel is in a really good location; about half a minute from Great Portland Street tube station and two stops away from Kings Cross.

The communal area's are clean and modern, not at all a budget feel.

The room we stayed in was exceptionally clean, comfortable and modern. Some signs of wear and tear and a few scuffs here and there but I would expect this from a busy London hotel.

The room had a mini bar, it didn't really impact our stay however it was locked. If I had wanted something this wouldn't have been ideal.

Breakfast was better than I expected, Full English (buffet) & continental was available. Poached & boiled eggs were available as options which I considered a nice touch for this style breakfast.
The breakfast waiting staff were very polite and attentive.

Overall really happy with the hotel & the service.

It has lots of another amenities near by such as Tesco Express & Sainsburys local (great for emergency sandwiches on a stumble back from the pub)

Although really close to London sights I would also recommend spending sometime in the area.
We enjoyed the Albany Pub (very close) and a few minutes walk away is the Draft House, The Marquis & The Wheatsheaf. All great for real ale

I stayed here at the last minute due to problems with the trains. I got a very reasonably price for central London.

The hotel is a fantastic location only a few minutes from Oxford Street and lots of amenities. The hotel itself is on a quiet road but the next road had several restaurants and cafes.

The room was comfortable, everything worked, a good range of tv channels, the right temperature - perfect for a tired traveller!

The staff at the front desk were very friendly and I was able to check in and out very quickly.

The only downsides were having to pay £16 for Internet and not being able to get room service.

Overall I would recommend this hotel to business or leisure travellers, looking for a good location and a good rate. It's not the most luxurious hotel in the world but it's perfectly good for a couple of nights.
