“Great hotel in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

The hotel is in a great location to visit most of the major sites in central London. It's only a couple minutes walk from Victoria Station in the Underground train network.

From that station you can take the Circle or District lines to the Tower of London or Westminster (the same stop for the London Eye) or the Victoria line up to Kennsington.

The included breakfasts are well presented with the usual fare and some surprises as well. The staff is very friendly and "politely eager" to help.

The rooms were well tended to and the building itself had a classic feel with the typical expected comforts.

This review is very overdue...my husband and I stayed at the Grosvenor in August 2013 for 6 nights. Upon our very late arrival, we were greeted with a smile. Once checked in, we went to the Reunion Bar for a nightcap, very cute and conveniently located just off the lobby. In fact, you can look into Victoria Station and people watch while sitting in the Bar. Our room was very well appointed and had a nice bathroom. Everything was very clean. The room was a tad small, but this is London after all. The only thing that could have been improved was the air conditioning. Didn't work well at all. Lovely hotel, great, helpful staff, convenient spot to stay. The daily breakfast was great as well. Highly recommend!

Just back from a fantastic weekend at The Grosvenor. The hotel itself is located with direct access to and from Victoria Train Station concourse which provides numerous transport opportunities into London using trains and Underground connections. The reception area itself was very ornate with chandeliers, high quality carpets and marble. Upon checking in, we were upgraded to an executive room on the 7th floor which was spacious, modern and offered good views in the direction of Buckingham Palace. The bed was huge and the room was fitted with modern amenities such as a Bose Bluetooth speaker and flat screen TV with a good choice of channels. We were also presented with a snack hamper and wine which was in the room when we arrived. The room was light and airy, made possible by the skylights in the ceiling. The bathroom was again modern and consisted of a large shower cubicle with rainfall shower, his and hers sinks and a large roll top bath. High quality toiletries were also provided, as were bathrobes and slippers. Being in an executive room gave us access to the executive lounge on the second floor which gave us the chance to have drinks - including alcohol - and snacks whenever we wanted and also use the lounge for breakfast. This was fantastic as it gave us a little escape from the crowds and bit of exclusivity. Service in the lounge was friendly and efficient and we were brought drinks as soon as we entered. The breakfast choice was great with a variety of cooked items, continental meats and cheese, fresh fruit, cereals, pastries and freshly squeezed juice. Other items were available by asking the attentive staff who brought these to us quickly.
Whilst there, we also had drinks in the Reunion Bar which we would highly recommend for the high quality of the cocktails and the welcoming staff. We were shown to a table which had a view onto the concourse at Victoria and which was ideal for people watching. Following two rounds of drinks, we ate in the Grand Imperial Chinese restaurant which is also located within the hotel. Again, staff were attentive from entering and we enjoyed a very enjoyable meal, opting for one of the four set menus on offer as well as a glass of champagne. The quality of the food was excellent and the service was a good balance of efficiency without being over the top. A la carte options options were also available from the menu but we found our choice to give us a good sample of Chinese cuisine.
Free WiFi was also available in the hotel which is something that even smaller, cheaper chain hotels cannot yet manage to do.
All in all, our stay at The Grosvenor was very enjoyable and offers luxury in the centre of London, friendly and attentive staff as well as the option of dining venues within the hotel. We would definitely return here should we be in London again.

Dear Reviewer,
Thanks for taking the time to post such a detailed review about your recent stay with us, it is really appreciated. Our key position here at Victoria allows for convenient and unrivalled access to the capital with the mainline railway, Victoria bus terminal and underground connections just a few steps away. We are very proud of the recent refurbishment works here at The Grosvenor and have invested £20 million carefully restoring the hotel to reflect the grandeur and opulence of the Victorian era with a contemporary modern twist. All of our rooms are equipped with Bose docking stations, flat screen TVs and complimentary WiFi along with other amenities to further enhance our guests stay. Our Executive rooms are perfect for both special occasions and business with extra space and seating in the rooms as well as Penhaligon toiletries allowing for that extra touch of luxury. Our Executive Lounge offers complimentary drinks and canapés in the evening and breakfast the following morning. I really enjoyed reading your compliments about our attentive team and they will certainly be shared, with a special mention to our Reunion and Food & Beverage departments. Your comments regarding The Grand Imperial are also very much appreciated. The team and I hope to welcome you back to The Grosvenor for another wonderful stay.

With kind regards, Ian

The staff at The Grosvenor are so friendly and helpful. I had requested an early check in, and had been told they couldn't guarantee anything. We arrived at the hotel at 09:30 on Friday to leave our bags and explore the city further, we were amazed to find 2 rooms ready for us.

The hotel is immaculate, nothing at all is too much trouble, the staff are polite and helpful. The beds are comfortable, choice of pillows.

This hotel may be next to a major rail station, but you have no idea of that from inside the hotel.

Grosvenor for me for all future trips to London. The location takes some beating.

Even if it is a big hotel it 's remain quiet and cosy. Ideally situated especially if your travelling via Gatwick airport, the breakfast is very fresh. Don't miss the "Imperial" it's a must. Also a nice place to meet clients.
