“Great location for travel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

This hotel looks impressive upon arrival and is located in a great spot right at Victoria Station, so to get around you don`t even have to go outside just walk though the hotel lobby and through the back door and you are straight on the station concourse.
The room here was nice and a good size, but the bathroom was small. There were no instructions on the various "knobs" on the shower so finding hot / cold / pressure was trial and error. Only on the second day - by accident - did we find that you could make the shower properly hot by depressing a small button under one of the shower knobs so feel that was a bit poor. Toiletries supplied were basic, but the bathroom was clean as was the bedroom. Fortunately we were on a higher floor and at the side of the hotel, so the road noise was lessened a bit. I think if you had a room at the font, the constant raod noise would have driven you mad!
Beds were comfortable and we did have a good nights sleep.

Room Tip: Avoid front of the hotel and try and get a higher floor room

Dear Reviewer,

Thanks for your post. Our side entrance is really convenient for easy access directly on to Victoria mainline station as well as the tube and bus links. I’m sorry you found our shower difficult to operate. Our team are always on hand to help with any questions or queries our guests may have. All of or bedrooms are equipped with Hypnos beds and we recently installed mattress toppers for extra comfort. Should you be travelling to London in the future, may I suggest you request a quiet room and we will do our very best to accommodate you.

With kind regards, Ian

Wow what can i say me and my husband along with my mums partner surprised her with a stay here for her 50th, we was welcomed into a beautiful entrance hall one of the best i have seen.
My mum and her partner went into the bar while we checked in, a week before i had informed the hotel that it was her 50th and they upgraded our rooms as well as giving her a bottle of wine and a card saying happy birthday in her room which i thought was lovely.

We then went up to our rooms which are stunning and the beds i wanted to take home never had such a comfy bed before in a hotel room beautifully decorated. we then went down and had a meal in the restaurant they had obviously saved the fact it was her birthday under her room number and on sitting down the manager said he would like to give her a cake at the end of the meal which again amazing touch, the food was the best i had tasted!

we went into London to see the bodyguard musical this is a must see!!

we had a few drinks n Covent garden then went back to the hotel to the cocktail bar, the staff are so helpful and pleasant some people complain it was a slow service but we was quite happy just relaxing in the bar chatting with no fuss.

The breakfast can get quite manic so would recommend going down earlier as we went about half 10 and they had to top the food up and we must of get there before they did this as it wasn't as hot as i would like it also we just missed a massive queue to the buffet.

Overall i loved it and want to go back for our anniversary next year it takes your breath away and the staff are superb!

Dear Reviewer,

Thanks for your detailed post following your stay with us. It made great reading and I was delighted to share your comments with my team. We get a lot of positive feedback about our Hypnos beds and our recently installed mattress toppers add to our guests comfort. Breakfast can at times be rather busy, especially if many of our guests come down at the same time, we are looking into ways of improving this. I was delighted we took your breath away and hope your mum enjoyed her 50th birthday surprise. We look forward to seeing you next year to celebrate your anniversary with us.

With kind regards, Ian

The Grosvenor is an impressive hotel from the minute you walk through the door to be greeted with a huge chandelier and at this time of the year a beautifully decorated Christmas tree.
We were very pleased to be told our room was ready even though we were almost 3 hours ahead of the normal check in time. Our room was in the 'wing' section of the hotel and was clean and large enough for us both although the lighting throughout was very poor and the positioning of the plugs made doing your hair somewhat of an adventure!
The view from our room was of the back of Victoria Bus Station and the local nightclub, the noise from which was noticeable (but not annoying) until about 6.00am!!
The staff were all incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.
And finally, we had booked this room back in July for a 50th birthday visit - the hotel remembered this and we were treated to a complimentary bottle of wine!
A lovely touch to end a lovely stay.

Dear Reviewer,

Thanks for your post. We always do our very best to accommodate our guests if their allocated room is available earlier than our check-in time of 3pm and I was pleased my team were able to assist on this occasion. We do have quieter rooms within our building, please request one should you decide to stay with us again; I was pleased however that you did not find the noise too noticeable. My team and I hope to welcome you back to stay with us again on another occasion.

With kind regards, Ian

When you arrive you are greeted with an impressive entrance hall, which looked particularly lovely with the Christmas tree. We were meant to be staying in a twin room but asked if any doubles were available and the staff on reception were more than happy to oblige. Room was finished to a very high standard, not the largest hotel room I have been in but certainly not restrictive. Excellent location as there is an entrance to Victoria station from the from lobby.

Lovely renovated historic London Hotel - it was a pleasure to return to at the end of long days of business meetings. And the location could not be beaten, for my needs. Especially appreciated that once I was inside the hotel - all the hustle of Victoria Station disappeared. My room was small, but very well designed, with high quality details that worked well for me during my stay. Particularly appreciated the features of the bath - although another electrical outlet would have been helpful. Staff was very accommodating too.

We spent a long weekend at the Grosvenor Hotel to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary, this is one of many weekends we have enjoyed here over the last 20years. We would highly recommend this hotel, it is beautiful with very friendly staff and excellent food. The location is perfect for the main attractions in London and for transport links.
