Location - Fantastic. North side of hyde park. Close to 2 main subway stations on the central and circle line where you can get to anywhere in London from. There is also a car park around the corner on Queensway.
Architecture - The architecture on Inverness Terrace and the surrounding streets is very impressive and exclusive.
Reception area - The reception area is very grand, very impressive and full of character. Decorated out from dark, hardwood it is exactly how it looks on the website.
Complimentary bottle of red wine, box of chocolates and morning newspaper. Nice touch.
Staff - Very friendly and polite.
Price - We paid £120 for our room (421) which is quite reasonable for central London on a bank holiday weekend (Sunday night).
The rooms are extremely small and the pictures on the website are misleading. The bathroom is very tight and there is very little wardrobe space.
There is a lot of noise such as creaking floorboards.
No shower screen on the over bath shower meaning the bathroom gets soaked when you shower.(regardless of how careful you are).
No breakfast in the cost of the accommodation. We were told that breakfast would be an additional £15 per person. £30 for two breakfasts is extortionate.
The true test of a hotel I suppose is would we stay here again and we would definitely stay here again if we return to central London. A lot of the negative aspects add to the charm of this hotel.
