So I had read both good and bad things about this Hostel...It was alright in my opinion. Could have been better. We arrived and check in was for 2pm, which I found to be a bit long to wait after having my flight arrive at 8:30 in the morning. It was decently located to the Tube stop from Pimlico (just a 5 minute walk). When my friends and I reached our room, the window would not shut. It was freezing cold out, but one of the girls at the front desk helped us stick a towel between to block the air. On that note, the front desk was VERY accommodating! Very polite and helpful which was really great.
As for the bathroom/shower situation.. I found them to be quite terrible! It's not like most hostels I've been to where there is more than one per floor..The one that happened to be closest to us was clogged and no sign was put on the door. So every time we thought it would be fixed, we walked in and were pretty grossed out. There were 2 showers situated nearest to us but there's only ONE hook in each stall with 2 small prongs for both clothes and a towel. I found this annoying, considering I didn't feel like walking around in a towel up to my room. There was just no separate space for changing and showering with enough hooks or places to put down your things. The shower condition was quite dirty.. hair on the wall, dirty curtain. I had a hard time feeling clean after but it was the best it could be I suppose.
Breakfast was good. I had no issue washing my own dishes because it's pretty simple to do, although I did hear complaints about it from others. The bread was fresh, and there were many options for spreads which was nice. It was a little crowded but there was plenty to eat.
The Wi-Fi was good.. password was posted so that we didn't have to always ask. As mentioned before, the front desk crew was great. One staff member even called the taxi service for me which was nice.. I think they have a pub crawl organized for each night but my friends and I passed on that. The weather was freezing cold so for what we ventured out for, it was a good location with options of food and little marts for anything you needed to buy. Sainsbury's was around the block (smaller grocery store) and we enjoyed being able to buy alcohol there pretty cheap.
Overall the stay was pretty good. I'm pretty big on cleanliness and I think that's where it lacks in my rating of it. If you're on a budget and don't mind the things I mentioned, definitely stay there!
