“Excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2011

A friend and I stayed two nights in single rooms and have no complaints whatsoever. The service was friendly and the breakfasts plentiful. Yes, the rooms were very small but we were in a quiet location, had excellent nights' sleep and everything was spotlessly clean with towels changed daily.

The location - close to Baker Street station - was handy for the West End and the area around the hotel was pleasant, with a good selection of restaurants. Highly recommended

Our room was located in the basement, in a hallway that smelled like propane. Although we went in January, the room was incredibly hot. The window could only be open if we were in the room, as it turned right onto a staircase that had an unlocked door to the street on the top. The room was really small as well.

We had to pay when we checked in, the payment should be cash

All the staff were friendly except one, who made fun of our English and acted like he did not understand us, even if everyone else we spoke to understood us just fine.

The location was ok, not too far away from Oxford street, but still good 10 min walk.

I stayed in the regency for one night only. The rooms were small but had everything required. the hotel is in an ideal location 5 minute walk from the tube & attractions.

the only down fall was the amount of noise from out side. I think it was mainly the hotel generators and such but was very noisey. you couldn't have the windows open and the hotel didn't have any air con.

I stayed at the Regency Hotel for five nights in December close to Christmas. The location is perfect! A short walk takes you to the Baker Street Underground Station, and you are then only two stops from Oxford Circus and three from Piccadilly Circus! Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum is right across the street. Approximately two or three blocks over from the hotel is a cute little shopping street with little boutiques and some nice mid-range restaurants. The included full English breakfast was delicious and made to order. I's a nice free way to start a day of sightseeing, and it was very filling. The rooms are small, but not so small as to be uncomfortable if you like the person you're staying with. Plus, my room was only used for sleeping and bathing, so size didn't matter. The room included a television, hairdryer, an ironing board and iron, and an electric tea kettle. There was no alarm clock in my room, so make sure you have one with you just in case.

My only complaints are the walls are tissue paper thin, so a light sleeper like me hears everything. It didn't help when our neighbors came in intoxicated at 3am the first night there. On the plus side, the road the hotel is on is very quiet, so no outside noise to compete with. Unfortunately, the shower was worthless. I hardly felt clean the entire time due to the slow trickle coming from the shower head. On the plus side, you also have a bathtub so alternative bathing is available if you aren't in a rush. I just had trouble when it came to rinsing my long hair. I was on the top floor, so it may not be so bad closer to the ground.

All in all, I would definitely consider staying here again...mainly because of the location. It was great to be so close to everything I wanted to see.

A well-situated B&B hotel between Baker St and Oxford St areas, with plenty of eating options locally. My room was booked as a single but was actually a small double on the first floor. Very clean and well-equipped for this kind of hotel with bath, ironing board etc, comfortable bed, clean and well looked after. There was virtually no street noise. Soundproofing from other rooms seemed poor although it was quiet from about 11pm.

Small, friendly hotel a short walk from Baker Street tube with good connections. Single rooms are small but well-equipped (fan,TV, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, kettle-- but no minibar/fridge). English breakfast, if you like that sort of thing, included in price: but no choice of teas.

Good location, small rooms, not familyfriendly. We were two familys with yong children that stayd at this hotel. I dont recommend this hotel for familys. Hotel located nere a hospital. Patiens from the hospital stay in this hotel and they expect all other guests to live like they are ill too.
