The Lime Tree is conveniently located in Belgravia between the Sloan Square and Victoria Station tube stops. There are wonderful restaurants in the area including gastro pubs, Italian and a fabulous wine bar next door. The staff is helpful and breakfast very good. My only complaint is we were on the 3rd floor and had to go up 60+ very narrow and steep stairs (this IS listed on their website but I had no idea how difficult the stairs were going to be). Just request a lower floor.

Room Tip: Request a lower floor

We recently spent a few fabulous days in London. Adding to our enjoyment was our stay at the lovely Lime Tree Hotel, in the Belgravia area.

As you enter the doors to this charming hotel, you will sense a warm, friendly and inviting environment ! The hotel is an older building but nicely decorated, and a touch of that English charm. A lovely garden awaits out back for a respite from a busy day touring the sites .

Our host,Matt, and his assistant Alex, were so cordial, accommodating, and just plain" nice as can be!" :) the rest of the staff were always pleasant and helpful.

Breakfast is served in a lovely art deco style breakfast room with a nice variety of choices to start your busy day.
Rooms are small but clean, modern small bathrooms, well kept, and comfortable mattresses!
As with many older buildings, there are no lifts and stairs are plentiful! But the staff will
assist you in any way with luggage or other needs.

As you walk out the front door of the Lime Tree, there are shops, great cafes, bakeries within steps. Taxi's are plentiful and Victoria stations are on the block! You can't get more convenient than that!

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the lovley Lime Tree hotel. and would recommend it highly! Just book early!

This hotel is located in a building that is from the early 1800's. No elevators (which we knew ahead of time) so we asked for lower floor room. That said we only had one flight of stairs to climb. The front desk helped us with our luggage. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and gave lots of good advice about the area. There are two metro stations within walking distance. We used the Victoria one which was about a 10-15 min walk away. The breakfast in the morning was table service (not a buffet) and you had several options to choose from. I enjoyed the old building and the narrow stairway. You did have to watch your step as some of the steps were narrower then what you might be used to. The rooms were smaller (as is the style of B&Bs) but perfectly adequate. And Ebury Wine Bar is right next store. We ate there every evening. So if you are looking for a friendly, reasonably priced hotel this is it.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the front of the hotel and were worried about street noise but they have d...

I enjoyed my stay at Lime Tree hotel. I was a solo traveller and stayed in the single standard room. The rooms are small but well designed and very clean. The room I stayed in overlooked the garden, which was lovely and avoided noise from the street. It was located right near the stairwell and I could hear people as they passed or as the staff set up breakfast. However, I noticed it when I was awake but never when I was sleeping (or trying to fall asleep). If you are a light sleeper I would consider asking for a room located farther from the stairway. The shower is very small but has a nice rain shower head. The room does get a bit humid after taking a shower, but aired out easily after I opened the window (Though I'm not sure how well that would work if it was warmer outside). A table fan is provided that also helps a lot.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and included many choices; I would recommend going before 8:30am to avoid the crowd. One day I had to wait for a table, but the wait wasn't more than 10 minutes. Lime Tree also offers free internet that worked very well. The location is great. It is an easy walk to Victoria station and Hyde Park. There are several great restaurants nearby and it is a very safe neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again if I return to London. It is a fantastic value -- very affordable with clean rooms in a great location with a friendly staff.

This hotel is more bed and breakfast than a true hotel. That's not bad, but two sets of 67 year old legs (with one knee and two hip replacements) took a bit of a beating climbing up 4 sets of steps to the 2nd floor (that's the 3rd floor in the U.S.) after a long day of walking around the city. Dragging bags up the first night also certainly confirmed the good status of our cardiovascular conditions. Even if you book early (as I did) you still might end up in a room several floors up. The room itself was OK for 3 adults. The bathroom was another story. It is a typical, old London building and the tiny shower, little sink and toilet got to us about the 3rd day of our 5 night stay. And yes, we also had a couple of cold showers when the hot water ran out (in the evening at that!). Gratefully, they had the good sense to leave a small, portable fan in the room. Otherwise, it would have been pretty stuffy with little air circulation. But the fan noise did force us to raise the volume of the tiny little TV set. And watching it wasn't easy since it was so small, hard to see and uncomfortable from the beds. The staff was superb and the breakfasts were nice (if a little redundant). The location was great. Just a couple of blocks from Victoria station and an easy walk to Buckingham Palace. The rate was good if a bit high for the area (but that is typical for London). If you really need a lift (elevator) and want room and bathroom sizes more typical of the U.S., then pay even more and go to a more typical modern hotel. Despite all this, it was a good stay.

We spent four nights here while visiting London. Matt and Charlotte were the perfect hosts. Matt was a wealth of information about London things to do. Our room overlooked the back garden and was lovely. The neighborhood was great, quiet Belgravia location. Five minute walk to the Victoria tube station and then anywhere in London is within easy reach. Breakfasts were very good and quickly served. And Charlotte's father was charming at Sunday breakfast and a great wealth of information about rugby for a Yank such as myself. The rate was a bit spendy, but everything is in London. Better to spend a bit more and have a wonderful time. such as we did.

Room Tip: We had #18, on the back, it could not have been quieter. Be aware that there is no lift and the sta...

Location of this hotel and cleanliness cannot be faulted - they are both excellent.
Unfortunately other things let it down when considered in relation to the cost which was £900 for 5 nights B & B.. Our room was a "Superior" but seemed small particularly the bathroom. The tea/coffee making facilities were basic and the furniture mismatched. The shower was low pressure and on 2 of our 5 mornings was cold. The table capacity for breakfast is not sufficient for the number of guests - on 3 of my 5 mornings we had to wait for over 15 minutes to eat breakfast which is not acceptable.
The service at breakfast was attentive but overly quick - cereal and cooked breakfast arriving together, toast served as soon as you sit down etc.
Overall we had a pleasant stay but would probably look elsewhere in the future.
