“Treated like royalty...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

My husband and I stayed at the Goring for three nights. From the moment we checked in, tired and weary from travel, until they graciously helped us depart, hurriedly and early, we were treated like royalty. Immaculate and comfortable. Location was wonderful. We walked to many attractions, and the on/off bus (a must for first-timers) was just a few blocks away. Hotel bar was small and inviting. Service was at-the-ready for anything you needed. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful with a nice variety. A wonderful place.

Dear sob4510,

Thank you very much for your wonderful review of your recent stay with us.

I am delighted that you felt like royalty from the moment you arrived at The Goring. Our team pride themselves on making all of guests feel welcome and perfectly at home from their first step inside the hotel.

It is true we are so lucky with our location. Beeston Place is tucked away making it very peaceful but still only moments from the hustle and bustle of London’s top sites.

We all look forward to welcoming you back to The Goring so that we can take care of everything for you once again.

With warmest wishes,

Stayed in a garden view room which was light in design and of excellent decor.
Service was 5 star and breakfast was excellent.
We stayed overnight prior to a visit to Venice so the fact that the hotel is a little out of the way re West End etc did not matter.

Dear 40yearsoftravel,

Thank you very much for your wonderful review of recent stay with us.

I am delighted that you enjoyed every element of your stay from the staff who looked after you, to your room for the night and of course your breakfast which set you up for your travels to Venice.
We all hope to welcome you back to The Goring before too long and hope that it won’t be for such a whistle stop stay next time.

The Goring is a marvelous choice of hotel in a city with marvelous hotel choices. The warm, friendly and familiar handling by the staff is such a pleasant surprise that is becomes the one thing you take away with you more than even the impression of the stunning property itself. The garden, the busy bar, the "must-do" afternoon tea and the sumptuously decorated rooms (I stayed in #96 - A Splendid Room/Garden View) are quintessentially British and make your stay in London truly special.

Room Tip: Treat yourself to the Splendid or Most Splendid category and a view of the Garden.

The Goring is a splendid hotel, no question about it, and the staff makes the experience extra special. W stayed in a king-bedded room facing the garden in June, and it was so quintessentially British that we are staying at the Goring again this December. For a one night stay we recommend dining in-house if you don't have other plans. Service and welcome are second to none - treat yourself!

Room Tip: A garden view room in the heart of London is wonderful.

A lovely visit also with a very bad leg , but the English taxi's make getting around very easy. Not tlike the New York taxis. The Bowie exhibition at the Victorian Albert was stunning. Also Mormon show was fantastic . Also ANgus steak house next to the theatre was great.

Room Tip: Room was a bit small next time sure to make sure I take something a little bigger.

Dear jeanSverdlov2013,

Thank you very much for your wonderful review of your stay with us at the end of June.

I am delighted that you had a lovely time in London and were not hindered by your bad leg. London’s black cab drivers are some of the most helpful people I have met and I am thrilled that during your time you were able to experience this as well.

We all hope that you will return to The Goring before too long so that you are able to enjoy more of what London has on offer.

The Goring is by far the most comfortable and welcoming hotel I have stayed . From the moment we arrived, we felt like the staff were happy we were here. Patrick, the concierge, booked us into some wonderful restaurants and always seemed happy to help us.

Our room was lovely and the bath was luxurious. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the garden

Dear gracemawn,

Thank you very much for your wonderful review of your recent stay at The Goring.

I am delighted that from the moment you arrived at the hotel you felt like you had arrived at your home away from home. Patrick is thrilled that you enjoyed his restaurant recommendations. He is the bible of London restaurants and someone I always go to for a top tip!

We are all looking forward to welcoming you back to The Goring for another luxurious bath and the chance for us to look after you once again.

We started out in a "Splendid" room and found it to be not-so-Splendid. The room had a very awkward floor plan, and we found it to be very cramped for two people. After one night, we paid for an upgrade to a "Most Splendid" room with balcony, and that made all the difference. It was a lovely room and plenty spacious for two. These rooms are going for about 900 GBP so if that doesn't bother you, then you will find the location, the appoiintments of the Most Splendid room, and the service all to be top quality.

Room Tip: Nothing below the "Most Splendid" category.

Dear SuzanneDu,

Thank you very much for your wonderful review of your recent stay with us.

I am delighted that you felt far more at home in room 38 than room 79. We always recommend that a guest discusses their room preferences with us before arrival so we can ensure that they are allocated the most suitable room for their needs. Room 38 happens to be one of my favourite rooms with its own private balcony to relax on whilst overlooking the garden.

We all look forward to welcoming you back to The Goring to enjoy one of our Most Splendid rooms.

With warmest wishes,
