“What a wonderful embiance.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

I popped in for a drink with my cousin and we were treated with the utmost grace. We sat in the beautiful garden enjoying the barmy summer air, canopies and a long cool drink. It was a delightful experience. The staff were attentive and made us feel very special.

Dear brandy52,

Thank you very much for your wonderful review or your recent visit to The Goring.

Sipping a drink in our garden is such a lovely way to spend the afternoon. It is so tranquil in there it is easy to forget that you are in the centre of London. I am delighted the team made you feel very special and we look forward to welcoming you back to The Goring before too long.

With warmest wishes,

We visited The Goring for the first time on Saturday evening following a visit to the theatre. From the moment we arrived we felt The Goring was a very special place to be. We adored everything from the elegant surrounds through to the professional yet discreet service and we could not have asked for anything more.
Following a pre-dinner drink out on the terrace served with delicious cocktail snacks and canapés we enjoyed a delightful meal served in the stylish and comfortable dining room.
It was a thoughtful and personal touch for the staff to address us by name, making us feel like old friends not merely customers. This was our first visit but it will not be our last. The Goring offers charming, traditional English elegance and grandeur in the heart of London. What could be nicer?

Just completed a three night stay at the Goring. Yet again it proved to be the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The staff set the standard for the level of welcome and service. As well as being our favourite hotel, the bar is our favourite bar, a great place for whiling away the evening testing the various cocktails! We will be back!

My daughter and I visited the Goring hotel after we had being to the theatre to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The place was buzzing when we arrived but were still greeted with a warm welcome. I had a coffee and my daughter had a lime and soda the drinks arrived with a large bowl of olives, cheese straws and crisps plus a piece of cake to go with the coffee. A later a waiter came round with a tray of canapés which were delicious, we felt thoroughly spoilt. I initially thought £5 for a cup of coffee a little steep but it was excellent value for money. Great place to people watch.

For some time we wanted to experience a luxury afternoon tea and also to being 'spoilt' with some great service and we chose to celebrate my sons graduation with afternoon tea at this beautiful five star hotel. We went with very high expectations and immediately we arrived we were met by someone (friendly but maybe new in the job?) who took us to the wrong place and just left us standing there alone not knowing what to do and feeling like a spare part which was a slight concern but then one of the waiters noticed we looked lost and immediately he took control we were shown to our table. The room was so luxuriously decorated and our chairs extremely comfortable. Our traditional afternoon tea definitely lived up to our expectations and the service, after a brief 'hiccup' was outstanding and very intuitive and we loved every minute. We shall definitely return and most likely will treat ourselves to a stay overnight as we also fancy dining there. A BIG thankyou to all of the staff. Not fussy or stuffy but simple luxury. (Loved the cups and saucers too!! )

Room Tip: Reserve a table and use the Main entrance NOT the Restaurant entrance as I think that's where we...

I have passed your thank you onto the team who are as pleased as punch!

Just had the most enjoyable Sunday Lunch at the hiring. From the moment of arriving to departure nothing is too much trouble. The door staff are always superb with my godmother who is now rather elderly.. from getting her out of her cab into the bar they are perfect. The food is always of consistent standard and seasonal. When entertaining my godmother I would not go anywhere else in London. my regular visits are a highlight and a great treat.
