I decided to spend a few hours here to fill in some time. I didn't expect to fall in love. I spent almost an hour in the serene front garden just soaking up the atmosphere and wandered round the delightful herb garden and ironmongers graveyard. The house itself is a fascinating portrayal of room settings through the years showing the influence of society on lfe at that particular time. I went on the guided tour around one of the almshouses which was worth more than the money they charged. Two charming ladies told us all we needed to know and gave us a glimpse of London life in a close community. The room settings in the almshouses were magical making it feel so real. Free admission to the main museum makes it excellent value. There are minimal charges for other exhibitions and a cafe if you're hungry. Please go and see for yourself. It doesn't disappoint
