“Cosy hotel in bustling Kilburn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

I have stayed here several times over the last few years and love the feeling of being in a London suburb, yet so close to 'town'. The hotel is walking distance from Kilburn Park tube, on the Bakerloo line and there is a bus stop almost outside which takes you directly to Oxford Street. Close at hand is a Starbucks, a Tesco, an ATM and a Marks and Spencers, with a hairdressers and internet cafe across the road and even a dry cleaners that does shoe repairs. All in all, everything you could ever want is nearby and central London is a hop, skip and a jump away.

The rooms are comfortable with lovely, squashy hotel pillows and there is also a tea and coffee making facility, and an empty mini bar, which means you can buy sandwiches and milk and store them without any worry.

A full gym is attached to the hotel, although I didn't try it out.

I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back as it is possible to hear traffic in the rooms at the front (even with th...

Stayed here following the Gartner Security Conference. After a long day quick check in and comfortable bed I was out like a light. The room was dark and quiet which was great. Breakfast was very good, everything cooked was as it should be hot and tasty. I normally go Hilton on business but after this stay Marriott might have convinced me. Rooms were a little expensive but work paid so that's not my concern.

The first thing you should be aware of is that if you are taking the London Underground, the nearest station is in fact Kilburn Park NOT Maida Vale.
The hoten stands on a junction but primarily on Kilburn High High Road. The area is not the tidiest nor the prettiest but once you enter the hotel everything changes. It is clean and smart and the staff are both friendly and helpful.
We were on the 6th floor and our room contrary to the photos did not have an arm chair but was very very comfortable all the same with a King Size double bed. Only three irritations about the room, one there is not an abundance of sockets and it could be that the fire alarm in the room goes off if it gets too much steam from the kettle! that os what we were told when on the first afternoon the alarm sounded, tit was switched off in less than a minute however it did surprise us. Two the fire alarm is mains wired and there are blinking red lights to show it is operation, one of which faces the bed and my wive found it very annoying. Third and lastly if you want to watch the TV make sure you have a newspaper or magazine with the programmes in it. We came from Germany and apart from changing the channels to find out what was on there was no quich way of obtaining your favourite programme unless you knew the time and channel of the showing.
Breakfast for us was included in the price and was very comprehensive although there could have been a little nmore variety offered in the cereal area. Beware of the air conditioning! we were there in mid September and it was on. If you are unfortunate enough to be shown to a table under it your breakfast if warm to start with soon goes cild as does the excellent coffee. Suggest you sit in the "pit" next to the windows on the right as you enter.
The Underground station is about 7 minutes walk at a slow pace from the hotel and their estimate of 25 minutes on the Underground from Kilburn Park to Embankment on the Bakerloo line was spot on.

We stayed here for 9 days in August 2012. The room was nicely decorated and included a safe and min-fridge. The bathroom was very nicely done as well. Perhaps due to the length of our stay, we were provided a key to the Executive Lounge which provided free breakfast, soft drinks all day and every night they had 2 hr beer and wine with snacks. Everything was very well done. The staff was VERY, VERY helpful. We even asked someone at the front desk about a Mini Cooper dealer and she was nice enough to provide directions with a full printout. The Italian restaurant in the hotel was pretty good too! It was located about 2 minutes from the Tube and had several excellent restaurants near by.

My ONLY complaint would be about the pool and fitness facilities. They only allow kids in the pool until 6PM, but adults can use until 10PM. That is lousy. The kids were also not allowed to use fitness equipment. Boo!!!

We stayed to Marriott Maida Vale during the Olympics, from July 23rd to August 4th. Clean rooms, but not very spacious, only double size beds, no queens, and only 1 luggage rack. Not roomy enough for 4 people. Decent price per night until the day the Olympics began, then the price per night tripled! Was nearly impossible to have the room made daily for 4 people, even though the reservation was for 4 people, they only supplied only 3 towels sets, 3 cups/glasses, even after complaining to the front desk four days in a row. Room rate was supposed in include breakfast buffet, but that was only for 2 adults and 2 children and the children HAD to be under age 12. My 15-yr-old was NOT allowed to have 1 bowl of cereal, they gave us a coupon for 1 bowl of cereal for 10 GBP and said that was a discount from 17 GBP!
The gentlemen at the concierge desk were very nice and very helpful. They were THE best concierges ever! Hotel has a nice bar/pub with outside patio chairs. Hotel is situated close to the Underground subway entrance within convenient walking distance. Also close by is Fratelli, the BEST Italian restaurant in Maida Vale, the owner Michale is a most gracious host! Across the street is a Starbucks with free wi-fi, a grocery store, a drug-store, a couple of pubs and bars. Strongly recommend the weekly Underground subway pass! Also recommend the London Pass a purchase book with tickets to everything you want to see at a fraction of the individual prices.
On our next trip to London we will definitely visit Fratelli Italian resturant in Maida Vale, but will look for a hotel that is closer to Trafalgar Square.

Room Tip: Standard 2-beds room is average, not roomy. Concierge Desk is Extremely helpful and very nice.

It's a marriott so you know what your are going to get, good standard of rooms, clean bathrooms, and excellent service. it is ideal for central london without the ridiculous prices for rooms at hotels in the center.Theres quite a few decent pubs near to the hotels so it is possible to enjoy a few beers without paying rip off west prices and to see a bit of London personalities and not tourist
